Its was really good and nice place
I had a great stay at the Proconsolo apartment. The apartment manager, Anna, was very friendly and helpful when I first arrived. She gave me a map of Florence and pointed out the best grocery stores, coffee shops, and restaurants near the apartment. She made moving in and adjusting to Florence very easy.
The apartment itself was fantastic. Overall, I had a very comfortable two-week stay here. I made dinner in the apartments most nights, however the kitchen doesn't have an oven. The washing machine works well and is very clean. The most stunning part about the apartment are the views from the two private balconies. Both have a view of the Duomo, and the higher balcony had a breathtaking 360 degree view of Florence.
It's a good experience when we visit Florence. Anna is passion to introduce how to visit Florence which makes us save a lot of time.
Before we checked in, Max was very responsive and helped answer our questions quickly. Max's employee, Anna, met us at the apartment when we arrived and was great at checking us in. She provided a good overview about Florence and where to visit and provided us with a map. She was also helpful and available to answer any questions. The apartment itself is a split level studio with an upstairs bedroom and downstairs bathroom/kitchen. The apartment is small and honestly feels kind of dirty, perhaps because the walls have scuff marks, the bed sheets feel old and worn down and the bathroom/shower smells funny. Otherwise, the description and pictures are largely accurate, except for the fact that an actual heat dryer that Americans might be used to is actually not provided. This apartment is not really a "conventional air bnb home" where people rent out their vacation homes, but is a business run by Max, where he owns the whole floor of the building and has short term rentals. Lastly, I wanted to note that I developed a bad case of hives in Florence during our stay at this apartment, which may be caused by the condition of the bedsheets, unfortunately.
This is a very interesting apartment that stays nice and cool during the hot days. The host is very welcoming and kind. We had a perfect time, and I highly recommend it.
The flat was comfortable and secure. We felt safe in this neighborhood. We were greeted by Max's assistant who gave us clear instructions. We had most everything we needed.( I might have liked one more dish towel and bath towel since we were there for a week). I was a little concerned about a week or two before leaving in that we had not heard from Max with a personal message. When I called everything was clarified, so it all worked out.
The location was convenient to see the attractions. It is very close the the Central Market. The apartment was great value for the price. The apartment was a bit dark with just one window. The walls are quite thin so its very easy to hear any noise from the hallway and nearby apartments. Good for a budget accommodation.
great location but very bad wifi. Host was not very welcoming nor helpful. Reacted very bad on a misunderstanding about the check out time.
The flat is very conveniently located, close to the train station and all attractions are of walk-able distance. Shape of the flat looks a little weird and not user friendly to me though (a long rectangular, which you need to go into the first room to access the second room). Other than that, the flat itself is perfectly fine.
However, I must say I am not too happy when we arrived, especially with the woman who claimed to work for Anna (the host) and helped us check in. Not to mention the bed weren't made for us when we arrived (we need to do all the bed sheets ourselves.... The staff claimed that she was too busy and the law doesn't say the bed has too be made ready for us blah blah blah. All I could hear was laziness), she refused to give us the second bedroom which we were promised of. She insisted since there were only 2 of us, we only need 1 room with the double bed plus the sofa bed at the living room, and claimed that the second bedroom was under renovation. It was not until i showed her all the conversations I had on airbnb here and after a big fuss that she finally gave us the second room, which of course is not under any sort of renovation. I am not sure if it's a language problem, but to us she seemed rude all the time and had unnecessarily large reaction to every question we ask, such as inquiry on the availability of extra blankets and air-conditioner. There is also a third bedroom (locked the whole time) linked to the second one, and we accidentally turned on its lights as the switch was located in the room we were staying in and we weren't aware that the switch was for the other room as we were never told of it. The staff kept knocking on our door late at night just to tell us off for this, which at that time my friend was in the shower and I completely passed out.... The staff/host who handles all the inquiry here on airbnb is not responsive as well.
Conclusion: The flat itself is nice and well located. However, the communication with the staff/host is painful.
