From Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Teach high school physics. Love traveling, reading, movies, dogs, music. Strolling through art galleries with a glass of wine is my idea of a great time! Or sitting in a dive bar listening to local music, tasting craft beers, talking for hours. So of course New Orleans is my favorite city. ;-)
I am very low maintenance, and do not complain about small things. I have slept on a hay bed in Morocco, and in a castle in Spain. I can feel at home in a tent or hostel, but as I get older I enjoy some space, comforts, and amenities. I really like having at least a refrigerator and microwave, wireless, comfortable bed, clean surroundings, cool art/funky decor, warm colors, plenty of towels, nice sofa. Plugs that work. Outdoor space to sit if possible, with chairs. I love personal properties with stories much more than faceless hotels.
I do not like surprises, and really appreciate a property owner who communicates all important details up FRONT, before a transaction. I think full disclosure--and NOT waiting for a customer to ask all the right questions--goes a long way towards building trust. For example, don't wait until AFTER I pay to tell me there are renovations going on in the property courtyard. ;-) (I have had this happen. SO not fun.)
