We stayed in Alanna's lovely apartment in June 2014. It was at the end of our honeymoon. She met us in person and quickly sorted out parking in her garage for our car, which meant we could forget about it during our stay.
We arrived back from dinner on our first day to a bottle of Champagne and two glasses on our doorstep, with a card congratulating us on our marriage!
The apartment was lovely and she had stocked the kitchen with necessities even including some croissants. The attention is in the detail and Alanna had left nothing out!
The view of Golden Gate from the dining table was fantastic (when the fog wasn't coming in!) We hit lucky and had some amazing views while we were there.
Public buses ran at the end of the block so it was easy to get around, with some tourist spots within easy walking distance (Pier 39 for example is a must see.)
We really enjoyed our time in San Francisco and Alanna played a big role in this, even on the day we were leaving she made it easy for us to spend more time in the city than we had thought possible.
We would definitely recommend staying here and will come back, if she will have us.
We had a fabulous stay in Alanna's beautiful apartment. Alanna greeted us and offered suggestions to help us get the most out of our stay. The apartment was exactly what we expected given the detailed description and photos. Alanna provided several convenience items including coffee, snacks, restaurant recommendations, wifi, umbrella's, and a hair dryer. She even left us Ghirardelli chocolates by the bed. The view of the Golden Gate bridge out the window couldn't be beat! We would certainly stay here again!
The stay in Alanna' s apartment was our first airbnb experience and it could not have been better.
The apartment is exactly as shown in the pictures.
Alanna is a perfect host. She even provided drinks and snacks and everything we needed for breakfast.
Alanna even had a parking garage for our car in the building.
If you are planning to stay in San Francisco do not hesitate to book this apartment.
This apartment was perfect for us! Alanna was very easy to work with, responding quickly to every question we had; and she met us at the door and even helped carry our luggage up the stairs to our home in San Francisco.
The neighborhood was quiet (for a big city) and felt safe to us, even at night. We walked from the Bay at night twice and never felt anything but safe. The building is locked, so it is safe at all times.
The apartment is just beautiful. Alanna has shown that she has impeccable taste in furnishings in this place. We had everything we could need, and it was all in a small space, making optimal use of limited, precious square feet. The dining table has the BEST view, right out to the Bridge. The kitchen is well-stocked, and Alanna went that extra step to have some staples on hand for us upon arrival. There is a book with all of the information you will need regarding stores, laundry, points of interest, and restaurants that are close.
The bed is very comfortable, and the bathroom is well-appointed. We were very comfortable here and hope to return for a longer stay in the future. We will cherish our wonderful memories of our time here until we can add to those with that anticipated next stay.
My husband and I absolutely LOVED Alanna's place. The location was perfect; we walked easily to Ghiradelli Square, Pier 39 (Fisherman's wharf), Pier 33 (for the Alcatraz tour), and Lombard Street. Easily walked to the cable car line to buzz down to Union Square, etc. Added bonus- gorgeous view of the Golden Gate from the breakfast table. The accommodations were wonderful (very clean, very comfortable bed, spacious, etc) and we loved that we were greeted with snacks, coffee, and a bottle of wine. :) You won't be disappointed!
Alanna is a phantastic host! We could imagine a better first experience with Airbnb! Very responsive right from the first moment. Our experience in the appartment, with all the little details and things thought of, shows how much Alanna cares about her guests. thank you very much Alanna!
The apartment was great - extremely well presented and impeccably clean. Alanna was a great hostess and provided items in the fridge and toiletries which were not expected but lovely. Bed was extremely comfortable. Security was very good and location was in walking distance to everywhere we wanted or we could take public transport. We would highly recommend this apartment.
Bright & Airy with a View was exactly as advertised and more! Alanna is wonderful host who could not have been more accommodating if she tried! Not only was there an area map with local necessities (supermarket, drugstore etc) listed out for our reference, but there were breakfast foods so that we didn't have to rush out the next morning to eat. Her apartment was the perfect home-away-from-home with tons of space for us to spread out. The location was perfect for us since we like walking everywhere. If you're a runner you're super close to the Marina Green for a nice flat run with a great view of the bridge! And, when it came time to leave, Alanna allowed us to store our bags with her until our redeye. We couldn't have been more thankful! Thank you, Alanna!
Alanna was helpful and welcoming. My wife and I loved her place and had a great time during our stay. The place is roomy and comfortable, we would definitely recommend it.
The apartment is large, lovely, very conveniently located, well equipped and nicely furnished, and with thoughtfully provided items such as jam, coffee and many others. It has a simple but extremely well equipped kitchen on par with the best we've encountered. The Safeway is a short walk or a quick two bus ride to the corner. It is indeed "bright and airy" with an enchanting view of the bridge and Palace of Fine Arts. We arrived the first day of the recent "heat wave" (for those from Northern Virginia it was delightful outside in the shade - 7% humidity!) But without air conditioning it was a bit warm when we arrived in the apartment mid afternoon. We requested a fan and Ms Mah provided it with alacrity. It cooled off delightfully in the evening. She also provided one of the best "now how do we...?" notebooks we have ever seen - transportation, restaurants, resources, activities. The only minor issue is the 4 flights of stairs and heavy bags. But Ms. Mah's husband rose to the challenge our 68 year old hips resisted.
We have stayed in apartments all over Europe, North America and the Caribbean, but this was our first experience with airbnb. It will not be our last and our next trip to San Francisco will be to this apartment. We strongly recommend it - it is outstanding value for money.
