JP's apartment is beautiful and fantastic to stay in in order to explore Paris. He was a great host and reassuring thoroughout - would always recommend his place to other people. Thank you!
JP is a fantastic host, and his apartment is a great base for a weekend in Paris. Everything is as you'd hope, except it's more spacious than it appears in the photos, and the view of Sacre Coeur is more impressive - especially by night!
Location is great, 10 mins walk from the Gare du Nord, and near various metro stations, a supermarket right underneath and a very short walk to some great bars/restaurant (JP left a list of his favourites for us!)
Everything went very smoothly in terms of check in/out and JP was always available to help out with any issues.
Would definitely recommend and will book again if we go back to Paris.
Absolutely stunning view -- even better than the photos -- in a spacious and well-equipped flat with an elevator, yes an elevator! My husband and I spent 2 weeks in Jean's flat and had a superb time. We will definitely book this flat again when we return to Paris.
- View, view, view. It's just stunning.
- Giant balcony, perfect for every meal outside.
- Kitchen equipped with most things you'll need
- Very spacious for 2 people, by Parisian standards
- Lovely building interior
- Grocery store downstairs
- In-unit washer/dryer
- Elevator to 6th floor
- 4 minute walk to Barbès – Rochechouart metro, making it easy to get anywhere in the city
- 10 minute walk from Gare du Nord, making it very easy to come and go from Charles de Galle
- Light-blocking shades in every room
- Large shower by Parisian standards, with separate bathroom
- Attentive owner
THINGS TO CONSIDER:
- Bring earplugs: On the weekend, it can get quite noisy outside until 1 or 2a.m. Also, there's a school nearby, so several times a day, you'll hear kids playing outside. If you like to sleep in the mid-day for some reason instead of being out in Paris, this might be bothersome.
- 2 people only: 3 would be a crowd in this flat.
- Be street smart: The area around Barbès – Rochechouart is international and can feel threatening if you're someone unfamiliar with the hungry hustle of big cities.
- No TV: If for some reason, this bothers you, be forewarned.
In summary, our trip was simply divine in no small part because we felt right at home in Jean's flat.
We had a great stay in Jean's apartment. The view was magnificent, the apartment was very comfortable, and we liked the location. Jean's directions for getting into the apartment in his absence were perfect and we had no trouble. When I e-mailed him with a question our first day there, he responded within hours. This was our first Airbnb experience and I would definitely do it again!
L'appartement est spacieux et très lumineux. Propre aussi. La vue depuis la terrase en met littéralement plein la vue. Jean est très sympathique. N'hésitez plus.
We stayed in Jeans fantastic Montmatre-apartment for a week this summer to explore wonderful Paris . Jean is a very fine host! Before and under our stay he contacted us to know if every thing was ok. Just super! We felt very well treated .
We just loved the apartment , where we enjoyed sunny mornings and lovely warm summer-evenings on the terrace. The view to the Sacre Caeur is just amazing:-)
It is a nice local neighborhood , where you can find good food and meet nice people at local cafes. We went to the neighborhood north of the cathedral . You should try that:-)
We would like very much to stay at Jeans apartment an other time!
I stayed at Jean's apartment last weekend for three days with my parents. We are very happy with the choice we made.
Everything was exactly as described and as in the pictures. 3 different metro stations, all very close to the flat (although the area is half an hour from all other main attractions); a big and fully equipped supermarket just at the entrance of the building; many bars and restaurants around; amazing view from all the windows and from the terrace. Unfortunately the weather wasn't nice during our stay, otherwise we would have enjoyed a quiet and lovely breakfast on the terrace at the nice breeze you can feel from there.
Crowded and messy area, but once in the building (that has an entrance code for bigger security) and especially in the flat, we could enjoy a very safe, tidy, silent and peaceful place.
Nicely and newly furnished and fully equipped, the flat is suitable for longer stays. I very much appreciated the dishwasher and the nespresso coffee machine. Nespresso caps can be easily and cheaply bought at the supermarket at the basement of the building.
I don't have a TV not even at my place, but in case you are interested, there's no TV. Very comfortable sofa bed from where you can fall asleep while looking at the stars and at the illuminated - and even more charming - Sacré-Coeur (that is only very few steps away), in case you don't want to roll down the rolling shutters.
Jean is really welcoming, offering all the information you might need on transportation, commuting and restaurants in the area and around the city, flexible for check-in and check-out times and easily accessible and responsive by email (I didn't try by phone but I guess he is as well :)) in case you have any doubt or problem. Very good person.
Overall, it was a very nice and zero (negative) surprise experience. We'd love to go back and I would very much recommend staying at Jean's place.
We stayed in JP's flat for 3 days in early June. The view is absolutely amazing and Sacre Coeur is actually closer than what it appears in the photos! The terrace is huge and the furnishings are very comfy. There are 3 metro stations within walking distance making it very easy to get to different areas of Paris. There is a convenient grocery market right at the bottom of the apartment building. The apartment itself is safe because the complex requires a code to get in. The area of Montmartre has good and bad so keep your wits about you. The door lock for the terrace is broken which was unnerving at first but we figured out how to roll the metal blinds down which is very difficult to open from the outside. There was no TV as listed in the description but it wasn't an issue for us as we were too busy sightseeing and the view of Sacre Coeur was our TV! JP was not available for check in but left us a list of restaurant recommendations and a map of where the subway was. He was there at check-out and was very nice and polite. Overall, we would stay here again because the view is magnificent.
We stayed in Jean's apartment last weekend for three nights and it was the perfect place for an authentic Parisian experience. His place is within walking distance from the train station, so we only had to take one train from the airport to his place and then walk about 10 minutes - SO easy. The train ride from CDG was only 25 minutes.
Jean was a lovely host and left us with a list of local restaurant recommendations and must-see places. The place is lovely with the most incredible view of Sacre Coeur from the private deck, perfect for sipping wine and enjoying the setting (or rising!) sun. The apartment is nicely decorated and has everything you need, including a Nespresso coffee machine with free coffee pods, a great shower with high water pressure, comfortable bed and furniture and a well-appointed kitchen.
The location could not be better; it's right in between the ethnic, North African district and the posh, hipster district so you'll get the best of both worlds. We walked and took the subway everywhere and enjoyed all of Montmartre's charming wine bars, restaurants, cafes and architecture.
Jean is easy-going, polite and knows all the good places around Montmartre. We would not hesitate to stay at his place again.
Just got back from a long weekend in Jean's apartment, had a great time! The apartment is clean, spacious, well-located, amazing views. Couldn't recommend it enough. Hopefully be back again soon!
Thank you so much for your complements. And back to you: very nice and AGRÈABLE guests, which I will always welcome again!
