The apartment was indeed spacious and quiet, in a convenient location. Ivar kindly filled the fridge with a few essentials to get us through breakfast and then some.
Goed gelegen appartement, dicht bij het centrum! Goede informatie van de verhuurder m.b.t. restaurants en dagtrips.
Our host was waiting for us at the apartment upon our arrival. He had been very good at returning emails before and during our stay in Reykjavik. The apartment was clean, well represented in the description and met our needs while staying in Reykjavik. The refrigerator was stocked so we didn't have to rush out to a grocery store for the next day's breakfast. Our host made himself available if needed but we never had to contact him. I would stay at this apartment again if back in Reykjavik.
Staying at Ívar's apartment was the easiest lodging arrangement I've ever had. Ívar's himself was very helpful and supplied some delicious picnic supplies for us upon our arrival. The apartment was big, comfortable and very well located. We would unreservedly recommend this unit to anyone.
Ívar made me feel very welcome in his apartment. He gave me recommendations before hand and his sister even picked me up from the bus station. The apartment was exactly as described and very close to everywhere I needed to go. I really enjoyed my stay at Ívar's apartment would definitely stay again on my next trip to Reykjavik.
The last few reviewers have really said it all. Great Airbnb experience all round!
Ivar was very kind to pick us up from the bus station at 12:30am as our flight arrived really late and then took us to the apartment. Had left us bread, cheese, Skyr for breakfast which was great.
Also gave us some really good tips and suggestions as to where was best to go as we only had four days in Iceland and didn't want to spend the whole time travelling. We had a couple of questions whilst we were staying and he got back to us quickly each time.
Apartment was really well located, walking distance to everything but a bit out of the action so it was really quiet. Would not hesitate to stay here again.
Ívar gave us a ride from the bus terminal, and some nice breakfast was waiting for us in the fridge. He is really helpful with all the information you may need; you are interested in; or if you are only curious.
He is a great host!
The apartment is in a nice quite area, only 10 mins walk from the centre and ca. 20 mins from the BSI bus terminal with fully packed backpacks. Warm, light and comfortable. We had everything we needed on our 7 days stay. (Wifi, kitchen, washing machine.)
We really enjoyed staying at Ivaŕs apartment. It was clean had everything we needed. It has ery good access to the city. We had no problem with parling the whole time of our stay.
Ivar had no proble waiting for us late in the night as we arrived around 2am. He even bought us some breakfast for the first morning.
We had a wonderful time visiting Iceland and thanks to the help of Ivar. Iva'rs apartment is very clean, simple, yet we felt at home. He had everything needed in case you want to stay-in for the evening or make a simple breakfast before you head out on your day. He was kind enough to buy us some cheese, milk, juice, and some flat bread so we had something to eat the next morning. Our flight from NYC arrived late and we're grateful Ivar meet us at the bus station then drove us to the apartment. After a long day of traveling, I think we would of been lost. The location of the apartment was perfect as we like to walk. Reykjavik is a very walkable town so it was nice to be away from the main strip and have restful sleep. I slept so hard one night that when I woke up I had no idea where I was.
Ivar is wonderful. He provided recommendations for an impromtu road trip. We saw some amazing waterfalls along the way and grateful for his help from our Airbnb reservation to our actual visit. Ivar is very responsive - we appreciate that! :)
- Walkable to food/groceries/ATM and main street of Reykjavik & other attractions
- Bed was roomy and comfortable; you may want to bring a sleeping mask if you are sensitive to light as sunlight does hit the room in the am
- Plenty of parking; we did rent a car so parking was easy
- Wifi - YES, helped us confirm our plans as we ended up doing an impromtu road trip to the glacier lagoon
- All the basics to make a cup of tea to light meals
- Ivar is a kind and thoughtful host
Suggestions for travelers:
- If you arrive late, there is a pizza place down the street for a quick/uneventful snack (ha!) I think we walked there at 2:00 am
- Hotel Bjork is just 2 blocks and was a great place to be picked up by the charter buses for our day trips/back to the airport
Thank you Ivar for your kind hospitality.
