We had a wonderful time at The Pad! Thank you, Hal for the warm greeting and yummy treats. We would love to come and stay again!
Hal took great care to make sure our stay was comfortable, from having a couple healthy snacks ready for us in the room to answering any questions we had about places to see, restaurants to eat at. The accommodations were as described, quirky cool and ingenious design. You can tell much care was put into every detail. The directions were straight forward and easy to follow. Communication was great. Neighborhood was awesome, food and entertainment all within easy walking distance. We would definitely have Hal host us again, can't recommend him highly enough.
We stayed at The Pad on a cross country road trip and this was easily the coolest lodging we used. This was my first AirBnB experience, and true to his profile, Hal helped me navigate the process and provided a great introduction to the community. He was a gracious host, and provided a helpful overview of the local area. Parking was quite easy for such a dense city location, and the bus to downtown was incredibly convenient and just a short ride. I will definitely check Hal's availability first next time I'm traveling to Seattle!
PS: The Deckutron. Make time to sit out and enjoy...it is fantastic!
The tiny guesthouse is a feat of engineering genius. I really enjoyed my time there and Hal is a great and knowledgeable host. Would definitely recommend.
Met Hal on arrival at "the pad". Super friendly and helpful. He gave us some fantastic suggestions on places to see around Fremont. His place was amazing and had everything one could includingincluding internet access.
Fremont was amazing and I will definitely stay there on my next trip to the city. Great vibe and easy public transit access. Parking is street parking and if you can find one of the "good spots" (Hal will tell you where they are) you can just leave your car and explore the city. I'll definitely be looking Hal up for my next to Seattle.
Response from Hal:
I will look forward to hosting you again!
Great area in Seattle, location is close to Fremont and to transit (15 min bus or you can walk!)... The place was cozy, clean and the views were unreal. Hal was very helpful, hospitable and knowledgeable about the area. Another AirBNB success!
Response from Hal:
Thanks Katie!!! Another hosting success too! Come back anytime! (to clarify, she meant 15 min bus to downtown. Not to Fremont. I'm right in Fremont :)
Hal was a great host, interesting, friendly and helpful. The beautiful Guestyhouse is perfectly situated in Fremont, (just a minute or two's walk to the middle of town/the centre of the universe! ) yet quiet at night and private during the day. Seattle is just a short bus ride away and easily accessed from Fremont. The Guestyhouse is a work of genius and fits together perfectly.
Location Location Location. So close to Freemont but private and cozy.
This Teeny Tiny even had head room in the shower for my 6'6" husband.
Hal is wonderful. The Pad is amazing. Truly a jewel in the heart of Fremont. Lena Horn on the turn table was the icing on the cake.
We had a wonderful time in the Teeny Tiny Guestyhouse, my Spice-needle :-). Hal is a great architect. He build a perfect and lovely house. Everything you need is there and on the right place, super.
And Hal is a grandiose Host. Even when he was occupied in a private sad situation he gave us lot of attention, explained technical details around the house and the bikes, offered us all the lovely places in Fermond.
Thank you very much
Hi Hal, we thank you for a wonderful time in your ttgh and for your hospitality. We will come back, when we are in town.

It was fun having a fellow host stay for a few days! Hal was great as a guest, even helping me get the room ready for the next guest as I had a tight schedule. Recommended!
Hal is a dear friend of many years and lives in one of the most unique spaces I've seen in Seattle. If you get a chance to stay in one of his places, jump on it.
Without a doubt will be your most memorable and hilarious host if you stay with Hal. Witty and debonair are his game, or was it silliness and debauchery? Either way, you'll enjoy your time getting to see the world via his eyes.
One of the funniest, thoughtful people I've met, Hal is a quick wit and always willing to lend a helping hand. And ambitious! Who else would think to -- in his or her lifetime -- build a Taj Mah Hal with one's bare hands.
