A lovely getaway -- sort of like a cross between camping and cottaging. Complete quiet. A beautiful view from the cabin -- horses, fields, lake, hills and an ever-changing sky -- and nice woodsy walks right from the cabin door. We enjoyed the canoe - great for birdwatching -- and swimming from the floating dock.
The cabin has a large comfortable bed, a modest collection of dishes, small fridge, toaster, electric kettle and coffeemaker, with a barbecue and cookstove outside, shared with the one neighbouring cabin. We cooked and ate all our meals outdoors. The cabin sink was a bit small for dishes, so we simple heated some water in the kettle and washed dishes outside too.
Don't be put off by the "shower house" in a separate building. Before I arrived I was picturing some sort of primitive set-up. It's actually a large fully equipped bathroom with toilet, sink with large counter, giant bathtub and shower, with lots of hot water and towels.
Kim is a lovely and welcoming host. Definitely recommended.
Wow! What a truly beautiful place. Your country retreat is ready for you! We loved walking through the trees, canoeing on the lake, exploring nearby gems & horse back riding! Kim is a great host and very hospitable, accommodating and helpful. She gave us lots of good tips on what to see and do, and taught us about the horses too!
Thank you Scott and Bobbie! It is wonderful to see you both enjoying the Cariboo lakes and appreciating nature and the horses. You both are fabulous guests!

Kim Was an easy respectful guest.
What a lovely family! We enjoyed having them stay with us here at Bali Rica, and would welcome them back in a heartbeat. So friendly, considerate and left their casita tidy and clean. Anyone would be lucky to cross paths with these people.
We hope they return one day! Two thumbs up for these guests!
It was wonderful meeting the Mowatt family, Kim, Glenn and Gentz. Good travelers full of curiosity and energy! I hope to see them again at Casa de Jule!
We had a great time together. Kim and family with great interest for fauna and flora, visited the Curu National park, with snorkling and a interesting boattrip to Tortuga Island. They enjoyed the hiking tour at the farm, the howler monkeys behind the apartments in our garden as well the red macaws. Her husband and son went to a local soccer game in the near village and enjoyed the good level of tico soccer game...
