George met us at the aquarium and led us to the apartment then made sure we knew where everything was, It's a nice little apartment and near the beach,
I'm sure its great in the summer but unfortunately for us there were high winds and rain driving off the sea for the four days we were there. Difficult therefore to form much of an opinion about the place!
George was a good host though and invited us to play ping pong with he and his friends one evening which was fun.
We had a really wonderful time, the place was fantastic and George, Maria, Katerina and Konstantinos were all such kind, thoughtful and generous people. Always going above and beyond. We couldn't have asked for a better stay. We would definitely recommend others to stay here! We were truly sad to leave after our month long stay. Thank you for everything!
This was an amazing place quiet at the time . it was easy and cheap to go to heraclion city for things to do and very easy walking to various things in heraklion. The house was nicely set up really liked the bedroom and sleeping sofa small but serviceable kitchen and bathroom. The host George was amazing made the stay very enjoyable. In all I recommend and would definitely stay again
A really great place.
In close proximity to the beach and Heraklion, very quiet and cozy.
George and Katerina (father and daughter) were really helpful with providing things to see and (locally) restaurants to try (amazing).
For the daily price, you can't find a better place, it evens exceeds the expactations.
What I can tell for sure is that here are one of the most welcoming hosts I met on Crete!
Apartments are pretty quiet at this time here, sea about 5 minutes by foot. Lot of cafes around, Cretaquarium, beautiful views, bus station nearby, etc...
George also provide me bike to explore surroundings and fetched me from Herakion when I got flat tire :)
Definitely recommend staying here
I spent ten days in this house in September. There were eight of us and everybody loved the house - spacious, clean, well equipped. Very well oriented - even without the air conditioning it is not hot and it's always fresh (there is a good system of louver-shutters). Sometimes we ate in house - the kitchen has all the necessary tableware and two fridges. there is always one balcony or veranda in the shadow. The only inconvenience - the arrangement of the bathrooms: there are only two bath-tubes with toilet bowls there and one separate toilet - at the moments of everybody's return from the sea it was a bit bustling. But we've arranged by coming home with a small interval. When there is a good will, everything is feasible.
The hosting family is all help and care. I managed to lose my mobile twice in these ten days - there was an extensive search where half of the island had been involved. Any kind of information you might need is provided quickly and true-to-fact. My special thanks for the perfect selection of recorded music.
The sea is good for those who love to see the plane bottom, irreproachable sands and even some services on the beach - you do not pay umbrella and chaise longue, instead you order something to drink.
The best food is within a five minute stroll - Ambrozia Taverna. The nearest supermarket - in a five minutes drive. The airport - 20 minutes maximum, capital center -half an hour with the search of the parking.
Beware if you are a kind of snob or sophisticated esthete - the house is located in a rural area with plenty of unfinished buildings and wasteland. One hundred meters between the house and the coast road are unpaved and you'd rather have to be really involved in some passionate discussion with your friends in order to overlook this.
George is by far the best airbnb host we have ever had. He was exceedingly generous, picking us up from the airport, providing breakfast items, offering to help us rent a car/ take us to the grocery store. The apartment was great. It was very close to a swimable beach and cute restaurants. Altogether a great experience!
Our host, Yorgos was most helpful, welcoming and extremely kind and generous with us. He picked us up from the bus station, welcomed us with some traditional Cretan food and drink, and even invited us to share a meal with his friends and him. He was also very helpful for all information about Crete. The appartement was very clean and very nice, all you need to cook, sleep and clean and have a very good time! It's only 100 metres from a lovely little beach. We greatly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend you to stay in Levantes or other apartments Yorgos rents.
What a wonderful introduction to Crete!! Casa Evriali exceeded expectations. The apartment is very spacious and comfortable in every respect - very clean, fully functional kitchen with two large fridges (!), good breeze-way/airflow and plenty of separate living areas for family groups to relax. It is not only well designed, but beautifully fitted with lovely artwork, nice furniture, including very comfortable beds! And safe for small children. A loved and liveable family home!
Our hosts, George, Maria and Katerina really made our stay a wonderful experience! We were a group of three families and our arrivals on different days and at different times was no trouble - one flew in at 11.30pm and my parents departed at 2.30am!! but our wonderful hosts met each of us at the airport on arrival and delivered us back to the airport in time for scheduled flights.
We were welcomed to Casa Evriali with yoghurt and fruit and George's delish and smooth raki! Katerina gave us loads of advice on where to go and things to do. Her best advice was to accept George's kind offer to guide us to places in the island. They helped us organise cars for our group of 13 at very reasonable prices and then in our three short days we explored! George took us over mountains and climbing through magnificent lesser known gorges with incredible ancient ruins, but almost no other tourists. We also visited a variety of lovely beaches and heard many interesting stories from George about there history, kids certainly enjoyed the stories about pirates. George also shared his knowledge of local wines and wineries and introduced us to the best! And gave the kids the best finish to the holiday at water city! Very memorable visit...need to come back to see more if Crete! CASA EVRIALI and the hosts are highly recommended!!!
From the time that we booked the house we felt welcome. The hosts could not have been nicer. We were a party of 8 children and adults. The youngest children were twins of 9 months and cots were provided for them as well as a playpen. Our hosts met us at the airport and settled us in. They are very cultured people with a great deal of knowledge about Crete and their own city of Heraklion. They advised us about where to go for trips, the best tavernas etc. They took a party of us to a very special taverna in Heraklion where we heard traditional Cretan music. The family are all musicians. George went to a local farmer and got us some delicious organic eggs. One evening our hosts made a beautiful barbecue which we enjoyed with them and some of their neighbours. Maria played the flute and a neighbour sang and played the guitar. The house is beautiful. It is such a generous size. Its very well designed and all the rooms are big. Lovely terraces everywhere. Air conditioning which you don't need all the time because of the through drafts from the terraces. Very nice big bedrooms and bathrooms. Good furniture and pictures etc. It feels like home. The beach which is sandy is a short walk away and ideal for children. There are lots of beaches further afield but this suited us very well. We went often to the Ambrosia tavern which was excellent. There are good local shops with fresh vegetables and fruit. The children and their fathers had a fantastic day at Water City and also went to the wonderful aquarium which is a short walk away. We also went to Knossis and the fantastic archaeological museum in Heraklion. I cannot recommend it highly enough.
