I and my family love the beauty of NH's Lakes Region and look forward to having guests who enjoy the area as much as we do.

The location has a nice, quiet middle of nowhere feel to it but within 15 minutes of Weirs Beach, Meredith Bay, a supermarket & some restaurants. The cottage itself is big (for a cottage), well maintained with some nice touches & an accommodating host. We enjoyed swimming at Winona Lake, but, if you're looking for a big, sandy beach, you're probably going to drive over to Weirs Beach. I loved the location (seemed to be close to everything my wife & 2 young kids wanted to do) and never any traffic (we're from Massachusetts & summer traffic seems to be everywhere)
The cabin was nice but we expected it to be closer to the lake (only short walk but no view). Our host was very attentive and the cabin well equipped.
We tremendously enjoyed our stay. The cabin was clean, functional, well equipped and spacious for our family of four. The cabin had everything we needed for a weeks stay. There is a grocery store just a few miles away so we purchased everything we needed there. We ended up grilling every night. The beach area is small, but cute. The water is clean and clear; shallow for the first 30-40 feet. We ended up spending a lot of some of the many local beaches. The lake isn't huge, but it is quiet and not full of loud boats. We bought a canoe while staying there and tremendously enjoyed the lake. The area is very buggy, so bring lots of bug spray. The host was responsive and a delight to work with. If you are looking for a pristine, luxurious cabin then you should look elsewhere. If you are looking for a basic, functional and clean cabin then this rental might be a choice for you. Quite honestly, the minor criticism I had was that the wifi signal wasn't very strong. So, instead of streaming Netflix's, we rented movies from the Red Box at the grocery store; and we went to a bar to watch the All Star game (which was quite fun). Lastly, the town of Meredith is charming and has lots of nice shops. There is plenty to do in the area.
What a cute, perfect place to stay if you're looking for a quiet retreat near Meredith/Lake Winnipesaukee. The cottage is in no way opulent, but that's not the point. It's is cute, cozy, extremely clean and well appointed. We loved the screened in porch which was HUGE. Traveling with two small children, the layout was perfect as the bedrooms are on one side of the house, and the kitchen/living area on the other. This made nap times without whispering possible.
While the cabin is on the same property as the owner's residence, you hardly notice it as the main house is down the drive, mostly out of site. Nora was an absolute pleasure to deal with, as she was informative up front, helpful with recommendations etc, and considerate of privacy. I would absolutely go back.
My only FYI would be that the private beach on Lake Winona is quite small, and shaded. It's not quite the beach to lounge out on, but for a quick dip or playtime with little kids, it works just fine.
We really enjoyed our stay at Nora's place. It was much bigger than we expected and the two porches were great. Spotlessly clean and well kept. Very nice area close to all you need or great for staying close to the lake. Nora herself was very pleasant.
We had a perfect stay. The cottage was clean and comfortable, the lake was pristine and private, and Nora was friendly and helpful. We had extended family visiting during the days and had plenty of space for everyone; everyone remarked on what a great place it was. We had everything we needed. Perhaps the best part was how utterly silent it was at night and how well rested our family is after our vacation.
We (a family of 4) had a great time in Nora's comfortable, nice and quiet cottage. It was very clean and well equipped for cooking. We were happy with the big beach towels for swimming in the lake and the games to play on a rainy day. Meredith is close and a nice place for shopping. The area is breathtaking. August 2013
The cottage was well equipped , the kitchen had everything you need . The air conditioning was adequate and the screened in porch very pleasant. The small beach and floaters were enjoyed by the children, the lake was warm and very pleasant.
We really enjoyed this cottage. It was very clean and the décor was nice. The lake is a short walk to a small beach. Lake Winona is lovely and the water is very clean. The area is quiet yet it is only a few minutes drive to Meredith where you can find shopping, restaurants, and marinas. Thanks Nora.
This place is pleasant, relaxing and very calm. The screened porch was of course the favorite place at night to enjoy the wildlife sounds. Well equipped and comfortable nice place. Thanks Nora!
I have known Nora for many years. We have shared several ski houses and I have stayed in her cottage. She's very responsible, runs a tight ship, easygoing and I'm sure you're going to love her and her place, it's such a gorgeous location!
