This is my dream house. We really enjoyed staying in this house.
Pros: Everything is done with the soul and everything in it is thought: there are dishes (we prepared yourself), blender, mini fridge. Really enjoyed the nature around the house: the birds, insects, butterflies. The owner Pascal and Karina are very nice and friendly.
Cons: far from the beach (you need your own transport or take a taxi moto bike)
interenet unstable (sometimes disappeared for a couple of hours). But if you do not need the Internet 24 hours a day and you take yourself for transport - around the house is perfect.
Pascal and Carina were welcoming and very friendly. They answered all of our questions about the area and were always around to help. Their bungalow was exactly as we had expected to be -- open to the jungle! We did not explore the neighborhood much, but people seemed quite friendly. The bungalow was a bit farther from the beach than we had expected, necessitating daily (very fun!) moto rides, which were a small expense we hadn't anticipated. We would definitely stay here again.
The bungalow was exactly as described and was one of the best highlights of our trip to Santo Domingo and Las Terrenas. We stayed at three different places in the DR, and this was by far our favorite, and the most relaxing. This is the kind of place where you wake up to the sound of roosters and cows in the hills. You'll probably see other animals such as: outdoor cats, families of chickens, small lizards, lot's of butterflies, etc... The bungalow is stocked for basic cooking, so I would recommend bringing some food, coffee, wine/beer, maybe some candles and/or a flashlight (for the typical DR brownout), a tablet with a movie, and a good book (and maybe even leaving some behind for the next guest). It's a 10 minute ride to the beach restaurants and bars, but hanging out here at night was more fun. The wifi worked well enough. As for getting there, we thought we'd hail a taxi to the bungalow, but we never saw a traditional taxi the entire time we were in town. Be prepared to either rent a scooter or ATV in town, hail a motorcycle (motoconcho), or perhaps see if you can prearrange your transportation with a driving service, since the bungalow is up a very curvy and semi-steep hill road that is NOT walkable. We had to hail a motoconcho even though we are typical North American city dwellers with one large duffel bag a piece, virtually no Spanish skills, and an aversion to touching strangers =). We got the hang of it, and it can even be a bit fun when luggage isn't involved. Also, buildings in Las Terrenas don't really have addresses. Pascal and Karina can provide descriptive directions depending on how you arrive. Write them down in Spanish and bring them with you. The house has 'Pascal' painted (very visible) on a little wall facing the road.
It was an amazing experience! You feel so free when you stay on the property. My fiancée and I loved every second of our stay. There are chickens that roam freely, a brook that runs through the property, lush, tropical forest. Bugs aren't bad, you can be rest assured that you won't be bitten in your sleep due to the bug nets. Simply put, you are missing an exhilarating experience by not booking. Stay here, you won't regret it.
Very nice and cheap place to stay! It is next to Las Terrenas and the amazing beaches arround. The hosts are friendly and helpful in getting informations about the attractions on Samana. Thank you again for our perfekt week in your accommodation!
The hosts were lovely and welcoming and their space if magical. We enjoyed our stay very much and would highly recommend this beautiful, artistic house.
This was definitely my best Airbnb experience. Pictures of the bungalow are very accurate. Open space without walls, nice small open kitchen. Making coffee in the morning was one of the best experiences. It's a very private and unique atmosphere, literally in the middle of the jungle. No fluorescent lights, no gym, no tourists, no swimming pool was the perfect situation for us. If you are scared of bugs, birds, bats, sounds, water, this is not the place for you. Everyone else, I HIGHLY recommend. Pascal and Karina are fantastic and very interesting people. I recommend getting to know them and arranging Karina to make a dinner. She's an incredible chef.
Pascal and Karina were our favorite hosts during our trip. We actually ended up extending our stay and moved to the bungalow they also have on airbnb. The house it great, it's very open and makes you feel like you are in the woods even though you are moments from the busy town. The private room is small but private. There's not a door to the bathroom so if you're easily embarrassed about such things, the bungalow is a better option. The bungalow was gorgeous and feels secluded. It was a romantic setting. Our hosts were very hospitable and Karina is an amazing chef. We enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere and the craftsmanship that went into the entire accommodation.
Pascal is a very nice person , i was very happy to meet him .
