Quiet, clean, and plenty of space. Even though I'm a bit over 5'11", I fit relatively comfortably. There were fresh towels, utensils, coffee mix, as well as heaters and fans. They proved very useful during my stay.
I did not get to interact face to face with the hosts, but through text, they were friendly and quick to respond to any of my questions. The location is near China town, just minutes from Kensington market, Queen st west, Dundas Square, and Eaton centre. Very convenient place to stay. I would recommend this location.
Chanel was a very accommodating and flexible host! Her roommates were very nice and gave us recommendations on some of the best local bars and restaurants to try. The description was very accurate and the accommodations were even more than we expected! The area was very fun and there was always something going on nearby.
Positives: Chanel was very helpful as we planned this trip. We liked the location because it was near McGill University where we were visiting family. The building was also quiet, which was great.
Negatives: The pictures did not accurately represent the space - it is more of a studio than an apt. It was a "lived in" space - with all the stuff that goes with that. The bottom of the bathtub was grey and needs a very thorough cleaning. The price we paid was high for what we got (the price shows much lower now)
Overall: it was fine for a place to sleep.
While there is no doubt that it's a low ceiling, the space is totally fine and comfortable (if you're 5' 8" or less). Chanel wasn't there when I arrived but all communication was fast and clear and I had no trouble finding the place, nor getting in. Location is fantastic, just steps to Spadina Ave and Chinatown. I would definitely recommend this spot!
Chanel was super nice and very accommodating especially working around my bus schedule. Her place is located in an excellent location, near transit but everything was only a walking distance away anyways!
Chanel was a great host. Everything was ready for us , directions and instructions were perfect, and we felt very welcome.
The apartment was more or less as advertised. The instructions for getting into the apartment were excellent - no problems on that score. The fact that it's a basement, and that there is no outside entrance gives the place a somewhat claustrophobic feel, but I have no complaints - given the price and the location, it was certainly fit for purpose.
A convenient place to stay, value is pretty much OK but don't expect the AirBnB experience. I never met the host.
Great location, a little tricky to find but because it's literally in the heart of both Chinatown and Kensington Market. The space is well taken care of and check in was truly a breeze. Hosts are both amazing. Very positive experience. :)
The host was nice, and the place clean. However, the room was not exactly as described. For example, there was no desk and no chair. Also, the kitchen is just off of the washroom with slatted doors. Thankfully, the kitchen wasn't used often, otherwise using the washroom feels a bit awkward. The room itself was a bit small, best suited to one person. There was a fair bit of noise, both from other tenants and outside. The area is also of some concern, since access to the house is through a very small street (more like an alley).
Chanel was a great guest! Friendly and very easy to coordinate check-in and check-out with. I would recommend her to other AirBnB hosts!
Chanel is an awesome girl and would definitely be a great host. We worked together at McGill and she was always super organized, helpful, and proactive. I'm sure if you stay at her place you'd have a wonderful and relaxing time!
