I came with my parents，it's really good expierence live in an artist house！frienly people！wonderful
Such a unique place! While we only stayed a night, everyone was so warm and welcoming. It's a nice halfway point between camping and cabin-ing. Wish we could've stayed longer to explore the beautiful grounds! We spent a longtime in the hammock outside our cabin--a great place to stargaze and daydream.
We had wonderful stay at David's place,so fun, perfect! The bed was very cozy and clean, highly recommend!
Great stay! The place is simple, quirky, and affordable. Exactly what we were looking for. The main highlight is Topenga Canyon itself, the beach, and the nearby food.
Perfect and lovely stay. Second time I stayed at the hacienda hideaway... It is calm, quaint, peaceful and beautiful. Just perfect for calm healing energy.
This was our second time to this place. The first time we stayed in the French Quarter, this time we stayed in the Mermaid Suite. It was super cute. The bathroom is a unique art installation, which I love. The overall feel of this spot no matter what place you stay in is a community. Everyone is friendly, ready to start up a conversation, share a cup of coffee or carrot juice. It is not the most sterile place, you will find things a bit wonky but the charm is so great personally those things don't matter. We will be back for sure. Thanks to everyone who makes it possible.
Staying in David's little town was great, the weather was really nice and it was so quiet there. You could easily keep to yourself and feel nearly isolated from the world or sit in the main house and make friends with the other guests and staff. We did a little of both, everyone was really friendly and David is a cool dude. I could have made a stand alone mini vacation staying there, there is enough to do to stay entertained and everything you need to cook with.
The French Quarter was nice and clean for what it is, very much a cabin in the woods. My wife and i loved it and will probably stay there again some day.
David's place was exactly what my friend and I were looking for. .. A quite, tranquil, friendly community in the hills just north of Los Angeles. It was a wonderful experience and felt very nice to get out of the traffic and rush of the big cities. Everything was as described and David was very attentive to any needs we had.
David and Saskia were amazingly welcoming and helpful. They really went out of their way for all of us. We brought our two children (ages 10 and 13), and they had a blast. Keep in mind, that this is really a place for the unconventional. If you feel comfortable with a more bohemian/hippy aesthetic and experience, it is great. It is pretty rough around the edges though. I would be wary of bringing little kids here. Other than that, if you want a nostalgic experience of the canyons in Southern California before they were overrun by the ultra-rich, this is it.
A perfect guest who has left me many good suggestions to improve the apartment. During the stay there was tremendous rainfall and a major flooding of the apartment. The wooden floor has been badly damaged and will need to be replaced. I hope to see the guest again after all improvements have been inplemented.
