Once again Bob & Amy were great hosts. Amy was there to meet and greet me when I arrived, and everything in their Hideaway was wonderful. I only wish I were in town longer to enjoy their hospitality some more!
This was a wonderful stay I highly recommend this comfy cottage! It was walking distance to CSU Humbolt and walking to redwood trails out the door! Hosts were incredibly friendly and helpful. Cool old LP's were there with a record player we used. 10 stars! **********
Felt comfortable immediately. Enjoyed the art, the space and the eggs and English Muffins left for us to use for breakfast.
This space is a great spot in Arcata as it's located right by Humboldt Univ. Loved the garden too! Easy walk around town and I would recommend this spot to anyone wanting to stay in Arcata.
Our host was great! She met us and helped us with restaurants in the area. The listing was just as posted and the neighborhood was great. Walking distance to both the the college and town.
Amy and Bob were wonderful! We were greeted very warmly and then left to ourselves. They have a beautiful, comfortable, clean studio/apartment in probably the best location in Arcata. We were easily able to walk downtown, Redwood Park and HSU. There is a comfortable bed, nice bathroom, kitchen, fridge, even a book library and record collection. We would highly recommend Amy and Bob's to anyone visiting the North Coast!
We absolutely adored the Black Cat Alley Hideaway and loved the property and hosts. The property is well displayed and was actually more spacious inside than what we thought. The location is perfect in the sleepy town of Arcata with a good selection of restaurants and shops and close to the coast and Redwoods.
They left us coffee, tea and Organic eggs and English muffins, so we didn't have to hurry out and buy groceries first thing.
Hope to stay with Bob and Amy again one day!
Bob and Amy's space could not have been more perfect. The locale, the neighborhood, the easy driving to downtown, and beyond to Eureka. The house and yard are so intricately appointed that you know an artist's hands have been lovingly everywhere. I was lucky enough to grab a couple days in the Black Cat Alley Hideaway, and if you're lucky, they'll be able to accommodate you too. The yard, and all its details and chachkies, is worth the price of admission!
We arrived much later than we had promised after underestimating the time it would take to get there from Berkeley. Bob and Amy were stayed up and waited for us and met us with cheerful and warm hospitality. Amy showed the house and suggested good places to eat and to visit, which was quite helpful.
Very gracious and friendly hosts.
I spent 3-nights in Arcata with my wife and 2 year old son. We used Black Cat Alley Hideaway as a home base for the Redwoods and surrounding area. I was extremely pleased with the location, amenities and cleanliness of the property. Amy and Bob were extremely helpful and made our stay very special. The property is a lot larger than the pictures shown online. Amy and Bob provided eggs, English muffins and coffee. They also provided books and maps of the city and surrounding area. The kitchen is fully stocked if you choose to do your cooking at home, but also close enough to Arcata if you want to eat out. I traveled with my bike and was able to ride into the town square in a matter of minutes. I would definitely recommend Black Cat Alley Hideaway to anyone who plans to visit the area. I look forward to visiting again soon and would absolutely stay with Amy and Bob again.
Room was great! Lots of art on the walls painted by the host gives the place a very cool homey feel. The hosts were very friendly and helpful.
Bob was a great guest and welcome anytime.
