This was my first Airbnb experience and I appreciated how easy, quick and personable it was to arrange details getting set up and checked in. This is a historic apartment with tons of charm. The bed might have been one of the coziest I've ever slept in and it was charming to be able to sit in front of a fire. The home is on a rural road making it quiet with an occasional truck rattling by. It was a perfect location for my needs and wanderings to Westminster, Frederick and beyond.
David and Donna are truly kind people who helped me out of a jam when I locked my keys in my car (running). They could not have been nicer! The apartment is very well appointed, including high-quality towels and everything needed for preparing meals. Very clean and cozy. Overall, a really comfortable apartment I would rent again.
Wonderful host. Enormous comfortable bed. Couldn't have asked for a better place to explore Frederick. Host was exceedingly accommodating and helpful. Nothing but great things to say about the entire experience.
After Two weeks in New York the peace and quiet of Johnsville was exactly what we needed and a perfect place to explore the major Civil war sites and National forest parks. The Apartment was as described and a most comfortable place to spend a rainy day when it occurred. The hosts were most helpful in suggesting that groceries be purchased before moving in as the nearest supermarket is in Frederick.
David was an excellent host - he greeted me at arrival and quickly responded to all my inquiries.
Very nice place to relax and feel safe. I highly recommend David & Donna's charming hideaway.
David was a great host, he welcomed us with a quick and informative tour of the house. We were in town for a family wedding at Thorpewood Farm and the house was a beautiful and easy drive to the venue. There was plenty of room for us to spread out, which was nice with all of the preparation for the wedding. The space was clean with lots of natural light. The kitchen was fully stocked and easy to use. It was a wonderful weekend!
House was great. it was the perfect getaway from the city we were looking for. The apartment is large and very comfortable and i especially loved the bed and the wood floors.
Ce très bel appartement est bien placé pour aller aussi bien à Gettysburg que pour visiter la forêt de Michaux.
Very nice place. We enjoyed our stay there. It feels like you're in the middle of nowhere but you're within half an hour of Gettysburg!
Very nice and thoughtful guests!
David and Donna were lovely guests. I can't say enough about them except that I can't recommend them enough. They are clean, considerate, down to Earth, good people. I thoroughly enjoyed spending time with them and would love to see them again someday.
This home is an American treasure! The owners took me back in time with all the amenities of the 21st Century. This is a perfectly restored 150 year old road house with access to destinations all the East Coast. My stay made me feel wrapped in hospitality and conviviality as we chatted and enjoyed all the history the region has to offer, from Washington DC to New York to Baltimore. I am so thankful for the opportunity to spend time with these marvelous hosts in "Their Old House"! Thank you!
Quiet, spacious and beautifully decorated, with a private entrance in this pre Civil War homestead on park like settings. I would recommend this apartment to anyone staying in the area. The homeowners will happily suggest eateries and attractions. Hit some auctions while you're there!
