Passionate about Mexico, it's warm friendly people and rich history. Love to explore, fish, garden and baking using fresh local produce.
We just completed a 3 days stay at Iguana de los Mangos. Very delightful. We had just come from a week in Cabo and the difference was quite refreshing. It is quiet, the place is on a dirt road that you'll see more horses on than cars. It's a short walk to a stunning beach (miles in both directions with very few people). Strong undercurrents, it's not swim-able.
The place is comfortable, homey, Brenda is a great hostess.
Brenda was an awesome host. My partner and I needed a quiet place to work while we were taking a Baja beach vacation, and Iguana de los Mangos couldn't have been better. The apartment is one main bedroom with a king-size bed and a sitting area, with a couch and coffee table. There is also a little desk and plenty of space. Then there's a huge bathroom with 2 doors, one to the bedroom and one to the outside. On the outside there (email hidden) area where there is a counter with barstools, a food prep area including a microwave, 2-burner stove, sink and mini-fridge. She also has a coffee maker and all the pots, pans, utensils, etc. She even thought of cooler bags and tupperware. It was a very user-friendly kitchen and we cooked most of our meals. The kitchen area is under a roof, so it's outdoors but protected, and the dining area (a table with 4 chairs) is also under that roof. Then, part of the same space is a deck with a charcoal grill (all the tools and charcoal stuff provided) and a great view. Part of the same deck has another sitting area with a loveseat and a few chairs, around a coffee table. This area is under a sort of stick roof, so it's partially shaded but good light comes in. Then to top it off (pun intended), there's a spiral staircase that leads to a rooftop deck, with a hammock and even better view of the ocean. We spent a lot of time there since we both had a ton of work to do, but Brenda was also really helpful in recommending the best swimming beaches (you do need to drive to these but there's a non-swimming beach a short walk away) and restaurants in town, as well as activities she can help arrange. Brenda was as accessible as we wanted her to be, and she even loaned us beach chairs, an umbrella and a hat since my partner forgot hers. Oh yeah-- the space is really nicely decorated, and there's a great cross breeze so no air conditioning needed. We would totally stay there again!
Brenda was a great host!! And a great baker. Every morning there was some amazing baked treat for breakfast. And Lady Victoria (the dog) was a great a companion too.
I highly recommend staying at Brenda's Iguana de Los Mangos. Brenda made our stay in Todos Santos easy and luxurious. The casita is spacious and beautifully designed and maintained. It's a wonderful place to relax in between excursions to town and the beach.
Brenda knows everything there is to know about Todos Santos and was readily available by phone whenever we were out and about and needed guidance. She also enjoys cooking and baking and making her guests delicious breakfasts.
Don't hesitate! You'll be happy at Iguana de Los Mangos.
We had a marvelous time at Brenda's casita, Iguana de los Mangos in Todos Santos. She personally guided us to her place when we arrived (it is blessed with seclusion that, for now, eludes (website hidden) Maps). We loved the decor of the room and the amenities of the patio and roof deck. In the morning, she shared with us some of the delicious local fruit that grows on her property. I only wish that we had planned a longer stay.
