Fred has been a correct, friendly, and interesting host. I coulnd't have imagined a better first experience with AirBnB; there's something about sharing stories with a glass of wine or cooking a meal together. It was a perfect mix between these elements and the respect for privacy.
The place is in a very nice neighbourhood of Paris. Fresh air when you walk out in the morning, the sound of birds and the absence of exhaust fumes or typical city noise make starting the day a memorable experience.
Fred was a fantastic host. He responded quickly to our questions and was patience with us through this process. Fred even made himself available via text to guide us as we came into the city - what service! As this was our first time using AirBnB we weren't sure what to expect so we took the plunge and were pleasantly surprised.
Overall Fred's home was generally clean, in order, and spacious throughout. It was well stocked with pots, pans, etc. in the kitchen and gave all the necessities one would need for a stay in Paris. The mini fridge/freezer (hotel size usually found in hotels in the U.S.) took us a little by surprise but was easily manageable. The washer/dryer unit in the kitchen was an added bonus; allowing us to keep up on our clothes as we visited the city. The trash chute is right outside the door and easily accessible from the apartment.
The main bedroom bed felt equivalent in size to a something between a U.S. Queen and Full size bed. It was a bit firm for our liking and sat lower to the floor but was more than adequate for our stay. Our son used the additional mattress which was comfortable and easily put in place in the main living (website hidden) and cable/satellite was available and WiFi access was strong and consistently fast. There is a nice stereo system for your use and plenty of reading material around if you so desire. There were dark out shutters and blinds on the main windows and dark enough curtains in the bedroom to accommodate late morning sleeping if one wished. The bathroom was fully stocked as well.
There are a number of stores and restaurants near the apartment however one must keep in mind that business hours may fluctuate based on religious beliefs and other factors. Check with Fred so you know the what's and where's and you'll be just fine! The Metro was only a short walk away (5-7 minutes). There is also an elevator in the building which is a huge bonus given that the apartment is on the 5th floor.
There were a few minor things we noticed during our stay that prevent us from giving a full 5 star review. The laminate flooring wasn’t all locked into place so gaps are present and some boards can move slightly under your feet when walking. There are various missing/broken handles and knobs in the kitchen and it may be slightly difficult to seat many people at the table in the kitchen due to space and slight clutter. There is also no shower head holder on the wall above the tub.
All in all our stay was wonderful and we would not hesitate to stay with Fred again in the future. The minor things were just that - minor. They did not seriously detract from our stay here. Thank you again Fred for everything – you were a fantastic host and we wish you the best!
Staying at Fred's place was a breeze, there was plenty of space for me and my friends, and his apartment is close to stores restaurants and transportation. It was very easy to arrange everything, and I definitely would stay here again!
Also, I love the way he's designed the space!
Fred is very supportive and gave us the all information on time and quickly. It is equipped with TV, washing and dryer machine, which is very comfortable to have. The overall flat is nice. Subway is close although you should consider commuting time to center.
Fred was very welcoming and helped me especially since I lost my drivers license and credit cards en route to his apartment. he offered to do what he could to assist us, and gave us lots of information about the neighbourhood and paris in general. The only issues we had were technical: the stove was a bit tempermental and the oven a challenge to use. Fred was quick to offer assistance where possible, however, so we felt welcome and at home at his home. And for those touring Paris sights, the metro made the sights accessible but the commuting got a bit long for my girls. overall great time in the city of lights!
It was a pretty good place to stay at, safe neighbourhood, bakeries, food markets and the metro station was nearby. One bedroom, living room with an extra mattress, a kitchen and the bathroom, plenty of room for the three of us staying there, and it was nice and clean. There was also a guitar in the apartment! Which is really nice for people who love playing. Overall a great place to stay at while visiting Paris.
Everything perfectly organized, always quick replies from Fred. The flat has a very good location, 5 minutes walk from the metro station, WiFi and cable TV... clean, quiet and safe area... supermarkets in the same street... I would recommend this flat to everybody. Thank you Fred!
Très Chouette appartement. Spacieux. Propre. L'Hôte est vraiment disponible pour que tout se passe bien. J'ai eu l'impression d'aller dormir chez un ami. Bonne situation dans Paris. Je reviendrai!
My friends stayed at Fred's and they were very pleased with the place and with Fred's friendly approach. He was always ready to help them with information and advice. The place is close to Gare du Nord, so anyone arriving from Brussels or London by train will find the location very convenient. I reccomend Fred's appartment to anyone who wants a good place to stay in Paris.
