I am a freelance writer/photographer, and I currently teach Spanish I at Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts and Texas School of the Arts. Both schools are charter schools based on the arts. My husband, a self-employed contractor/car dealer, owns Cornerstone Homes and Cornerstone Motors. We have been married for 28 years and have two children. Our 23 yr old daughter works for my husband part time and is a college student, graduating this December. She has been married for nearly two years to a firefighter and lives in the same town we do.

Our 25 yr old son lives in the Dolores Park neighborhood of San Francisco and is a senior Android developer for Evernote. His wife of 6 years is a UIX designer, also at Evernote. We will be coming to San Francisco 2-3 times a year to visit them and would love to have a regular place to stay. I have severe asthma and cannot stay in a home with pets. My son has two dogs. So, as much as we would love to stay with them, I have to be in a pet-free environment.

You can find me on the web if you search on my full name: Karen Mitchell Smith. I have three websites for my photography and writing business, but this site won't allow me to post the websites. I am also on several social networking sites.

We are quiet guests, polite with southern manners. We'll pick up after ourselves and treat you like family to us, if you don't mind that. (Another southern trait) We enjoy trying new places, meeting new people and eating delicious food. And I LOVE LOVE LOVE taking photos. If you check out my websites, you'll see what I mean.

Hope to meet you soon!
