I'm a lawyer and aerialist based in South Carolina. I used to host airbnb'ers regularly but I just use it when I travel now. I've really had a great experience with it, and look forward to many more stays :)

The host canceled my reservation 12 days before arrival.
It's a fantastic, central location, a nice property, the cat is not very high maintenance, but I do feel like there should have been full disclosure about the church bells across the street, if you are a light sleeper you will not be able to sleep after 7am. Sally was easy to communicate with and a fine host.
Sally was a responsive and flexible host. Our plane was late and we had a mix up renting the car so we were late getting to her place. Sally was very gracious. The Pirate House is a fun place to stay. You are on the tours. The house worked great for us. It is an historic house so I would rate the bathroom as adequate. Everything works. The bed was comfy and Sally's cat, although not a snuggler, loved to play. Sally gave ideas about local spots of interest and was willing to assist us during our stay.
Location, location, location. Charleston is literally at your front door. Sally's apartment is incredibly convenient for walking to all of the city's most interesting historic districts and to a super variety of places to eat and drink. She emailed easy to follow instructions to locate the key to the apartment, suggestions for her favorite places to see as well as arranged a much appreciated parking space for us to use over our weekend stay. I have to mention a fabulous shop "Goat, Sheep,Cow" on Church Street off Elliott which is just south of Broad. Everyone is very pleasant and very knowledgeable. If you really enjoy exceptional cheeses and great wine, this is your go to place.
This is the most perfect place to stay, a divine mid 18th century abode, opposite a magnificant church.
You got not get more of a perfect location to be based at.
Sally was delightful, always happy to answer my email and calls, before and during my stay.
Her cat was a character, he loves to snuggle on the bed with you when sleeping.
This Airbnb abode is 10/10.
Very quaint. Wonderful location--covered parking just around corner. Look forward to returning soon.
Sally was a wonderful host who made it extremely easy to coordinate my stay in her charming French Quater place. She went above and beyond in her correspondence to ensure that my stay in Charleston was enjoyable. The location was amazing and right in the heart of the historic city. Sally's place was wonderfully arranged with beautiful pieces and unique artwork. We even had a companion as her adorable cat, City, was there too! Prior to arriving in Charleston, Sally sent me an informational packet with everything I needed to know about her place as well as personal recommendations for places to go and things to do in the city. I definitely recommend staying at Sally's place and hope to stay there again next time I'm in Charleston!
This was the PERFECT place to stay downtown! Close to everything and in a very nice and historic part of town (although all of Charleston is very historic!). Sally was very sweet and helpful, although we never got to meet in person. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone!
My good friend and I really enjoyed staying at the Pirate House. It was close to everything, a perfect location!, and we walked through Downtown Charleston everyday we were there. Sally is very responsive in her communication and gave us plenty of local information to get us started.
We had a great time in Charleston. Sally was very accommodating. The house is in a great location & gave us a first hand look at historic Charleston every day. My wife & I fell in love with the city.
Sally was a lovely guest. She is incredibly friendly and nice to chat with. She kept me informed of her plans and was a tidy and respectful guest, welcome back any time!
Sally's sister ended up staying with us. Just for one night and we had no issues. Very pleasant and left the room as she found it.
Really pleasant guest. A pleasure to host.
I would make sure there is a good line of communication before accepting this guest.
Sally and her boyfriend were great guests! They were polite, clean and very friendly. We highly recommend them! They are welcome back anytime!
Sally was the PERFECT guest in our home. Her demeanor is so bright and cheery, I swear she adds sunlight! She is a well seasoned traveler and we spent a lot of time actually sharing stories about recent adventures. Very neat and tidy too, we would love to have her back!!!
It was a pleasure hosting Sally and her dad for a week over the Christmas holiday.
We didn't get to visit much, as they had a very packed schedule with many places to go and people to see - but the times we did were completely friendly and pleasant.
Really nice, high-quality folks... very clean, conscientious and easy to get along with.
I wouldn't hesitate to have them stay anytime. Highly recommended!
I love Sally and I love the pirate house! You will not find a cuter, more lovely spot in town nor a more energetic and eager to please host! My friends and I all stayed for a long weekend and walked around the town, drove to the beach, went surfing, walked around the farmer's market and danced to local music! Sally knows it all and the pirate house is sure to delight!
I love the Pirate House! Charming, bright, airy, and very spacious. This house has an amazing energy to it and is close to all of the goodies Charleston has to offer: Ocean, shops, adorable and tasty restaurants, cafes, theatre, parks, green markets, etc. The house is on a very pleasant street that's lovely to stroll along. Pirate House is the way to go!! It has a lovely backyard too!
I had a GREAT STAY at this historic home (the famous Pirate House!), right in the center of the French Quarter. I stayed there with four of my friends, and there was plenty of room for all of us. The place gets nice light and has an adorable courtyard in back with a fountain that we did yoga in. Also, the house is within walking distance to the ocean, the grocery store, and King St. All in all, extremely pleasant weekend,I can't wait to go back. And when I do, I hope to stay at the Pirate House!
