Through a friend, I had the opportunity to stay at Anne's beautiful country home earlier this month and although only there for a couple of days, it definitely became a highlight of our entire European adventure. Located remotely in the countryside, the home lends itself to complete and utter relaxation and appreciation of your surroundings -- not to mention the house is absolutely beautiful! From the sunny hammocks on the veranda, to the beautiful lavender gardens, to the sprawling hillside views, to the sound of the frogs (and even hedgehogs!) at night, we felt like we were in another world. If you're looking for a relaxing stay between cities, look no further - I would recommend Anne's home a hundred times over.
Anne is the mother of one of my oldest childhood friends, and her home and company are so delightful that I have been to see her at the country house three times. Her home is outwardly rustic, while the inside is romantic with all modern conveniences. Nearly every shelf is filled with books, adding to the wonderful air of whimsy and intelligence that permeates every nook and cranny. I wrote a blog post about staying there, which I will quote:
"Their country house is incredibly beautiful, and the surrounding landscape of the Dordogne could not be more different than the breezy seascape we have gotten used to in the Riviera. Poets and writers have gone there for centuries to take inspiration from the purple hills, green, green valleys, and the inky waters of the Dordogne itself. We spent a day exploring the nearby medieval towns, such as Montignac and Sarlot ... It was in Sarlot that we discovered the yearly goose festival, where you could purchase regional cheeses, wines, and tarts and, of course, barbecued goose and foie gras."
All in all, a stay at Anne's is a stay in heaven for those who love beauty, literature and the ethereal elements of nature.
We have stayed at Anne's delightful Dordogne home a couple of times. It is in bucolic, tranquil countryside and the home itself is lovely, complete with memorablia for Anne's extensive travels.
All the facilities are excellent.
Plenty to see in the area and Anne makes a very charming and fascinating host.
A little bit of paradise in the Dordogne.

Anne is my aunt and I'm sitting in her lovely country home as I write this referral. This property is absolutely amazing! It's my third time here and the gardening and nature work Anne does make it even better each time. The cottage is well appointed and comfortable. You will not be disappointed. Of course I think my aunt is the best person to chat with ever, but I think you'll agree that her worldly life makes her very fun to talk to. The location is in the middle of nowhere in the Southwest French countryside with easy walks into the nearby town, short drives into many nearby towns and more destination places like the Hautefort Chateau and the Lascaux cave paintings within 30 minutes drive. If you're looking for the quintessential, regional experience in rural, southern France, look no further.
