In between making jewelry and rebuilding my home, I enjoy the company of my muppetdogs, Ozcar and Tiktok, a vociferous kitty, Boo, and my plump black chicken, who believes I am hiding something from her.

Lizzie was our host since Nyssa was on holidays. She has been a tremendous host, attending to our every needs and leaving none of our questions unanswered. Thank you Lizzie, your advices truly helped us get the most out of our stay in NOLA.
The house is great, quite original and close (15-20min walk) to Frenchmen street and the French quarter. The neighbourhood was very calm and quiet, and although one could feel insecure at night walking alone in the area, every encounter we made was friendly, and there is still the cab option to get back at night.
A great, truly recommended stay!
Unfortunately Nyssa was out of town. But fortunately Lizzie was there to host! Place is as described and true piece of real NOLA culture. Very comfy bed in which we did take a couple mid-day naps. Lizzie labored over a killer cup of coffee in the morning for me and was a great help making us feel comfortable. Nyssa leaves stapled pages in the room on where to eat and drink that is not on the tourist radar. I highly recommend you use this as your guide. French 75 is now at the top of my list for their fantastic Gin Fizz and 20's ambiance. Cake Cafe for breakfast was outstanding. Their neighbor, Ian, rented out two bikes to us which is the only way I will ever get around from now on. Get a hold of this guy. Great experience overall!
Nyssa was out of town so her roommate was our hostess during our stay. She was amazing! She was there if we needed anything. Once when we came back to the house she was even practicing her fiddle/violin. Staying with them was so much better than staying in a hotel. We were able to get the authentic feel of NOLA and we were so close to everything. The only time we even drove was to go to the Garden District and when we went on a swamp tour. Nyssa's suggestions were fantastic too. I can't remember what the place was called but they have a frozen irish coffee drink and it was one of the best drinks I have ever had. I would recommend this house to anyone. Their pets, Boo and Tick-Tock, are so lovable and fun to be around. It was an amazing experience and I am forever thankful for them letting us stay at their eclectic NOLA home.
When I first emailed Nyssa about staying here, I told her that her place looked like the antithesis to a hotel room, and I am happy to say it's completely true. The house is close to Frenchmen Street and the French Quarter but far enough away that you don't run into the inevitable drunken revelers. Lizzy suggested going to a blues fest that was going on in Louis Armstrong Park, which ended up being a fantastic and spontaneous break from our streak of indulgence. Overall we had a great trip and would recommend this place to anyone else passing through.
Nyssa was a great host with a really interesting space. She really went out of her way to accommodate my stay, even though her normal rental space was already booked.
Beautiful house and warm welcoming thank you for everything
The location was great and not that far from the French Quarter. Nyssa was very helpful and nice. She also gave us plenty of space and left us a nice list of places to eat and drink.
Nyssa was open friendly, easy, and flexible to work with, its easy distance into the French quarter at an affordable rate.
Lovely house, adorable pets, walking distance to the quarter.
Great host, full of helpful suggestions. Bad area of the city if you act like a fratboy or aren't the adventurous type. Located near a lot of fun bars and walking distance from the french quarter.
