Leora made me feel very welcome, and was an absolute pleasure to chat with on one of the evenings I was there. Everything I needed was in the Treehouse, the place was clean, firewood was stocked up, and instructions were clear. The weather was cold, so the outdoor shower was um... interesting on the first day, but hey... nature will be nature! I knew what I was getting into! I don't get to use a wood stove very often, so that was a treat too. Overall, it was a great time. I'd do it again for sure!
The treehouse was a great getaway! The location was very convenient to downtown and the fireplace kept the house warm and cozy. I'd recommend this place to others!
I loved the Treehouse on Stilts. It was accurately described in the information that was available when I chose to stay there. The price is reasonable, and the space is cozy. It is studio-style, and the kitchen accommodations (including an induction hot plate that boiled water in no time) are certainly adequate. There is a wood stove to heat the place, but it wasn't that chilly, so I just relied on warming the place with the electric heater when I was awake. The shower is outdoors, which is a little bracing, but it is a tolerable adventure. The neighborhood is nice, and an easy walk to restaurants, shops and the downtown area.
Leora was very helpful, communicative and accommodating before my arrival, so everything about my stay went smoothly once I got there. I would stay there again, for sure.
Leora's place was great. Communication was easy and quick. The chickens were an added novelty and did not bother. Highly recommend for a funky retreat. Smaller than it looks in pics, but cozy and cool.
This place was AWESOME. Such a cool house and atmosphere, we especially loved the deck and outdoor shower. It was very close to the downtown mall and Monticello which was helpful, too. I would definitely stay here again!
Leora was very helpful and had some great tips for us. The house was nice and cozy and had all the basic amenities. The house made you feel close to nature with beautiful views on all sides. The outdoor shower was a nice touch. There is one bedroom on the top accessible by a cool ladder and the second bedroom is pretty much a combination of a bed and the living room. So if there are more than two people, they better be comfortable sharing space.
Moreover, the house is in a great neighborhood and close to most of the cool restaurants around. We will definitely consider staying there again if we came back to Charlottesville.
P.S. Leora told us about the hike on Sugar Hollow and it was gorgeous!
This was a unique experience in a great location. We love Charlottesville and it was easy to walk everywhere we wanted to go. The house was adorable.
The outdoor shower wasn't a problem but we were surprised that the bathroom, while enclosed, did require a walk outside to get to. You also have to be at least somewhat agile to get to the upper level; it's more like climbing a ladder than stairs.
The chickens coop under the deck just adds to the charm, but roosters do get up early. And roosters are loud.
We were concerned about the edge of the upper level at the stair opening. There was nothing to block anyone from going over and we had small children with us. Something to keep in mind.
The host provided everything we could have needed but gave us our space. She even had a little board set up as a gate so our dog couldn't run after the chickens.
Overall a great experience and we're glad we went.
We loved our brief stay at the treehouse and wished we had longer to enjoy it! Leora was very gracious accommodating two of us and our dog for a last-minute reservation. The treehouse is cozy and welcoming, the outdoor shower was refreshing and perfect. We appreciated the TLC that went into building the house and all of the handmade artwork and clever, perfect space-saving ideas. We left wanting to build our own treehouse (and you can read about how to do that in some of the books on the shelves!)
Leora gave us great suggestions for where to go and what to do during our few hours in Charlottesville and pointed us to some great spots to eat. The house is on the opposite side of town from UVA in a quiet residential neighborhood, but walking distance from a tranquil river trail and great spots to eat. I enjoyed walking around the neighborhood early in the morning. and seeing what kinds of creative things people were doing with their gardens and bungalows.
A perfect place to stay in C'ville!
Since I graduated from UVA two years ago, I knew that I would still be relatively familiar with the Charlottesville area - yet I wanted to spice up my adventure by staying somewhere I hadn't been before. The Treehouse on Stilts was the perfect spot for a short getaway. So close to the downtown mall, yet intimate enough to make you feel like you're in your own world. Leora was so accommodating, and added so much charm and character to the treehouse. Also, I adored their "Treehouse for Charity" program, it was such a nice touch to be able to send a portion of our funds over to local charity!
Leora is such a superwoman! She went above and beyond to make our stay at the treehouse comfortable. She even went and bought an internet booster when I mentioned that the signal was weak. Her home is the coziest. The outdoor shower has good hot water, and it's the most refreshing thing after a long day. It's evident that lots of love went into building such a home with so much personality. :)
We love it when people hit the ground running, whether they've got a solid plan or not. You won't see much of these adventerous folks. They left the place sparkly, too
Leora and her family were so nice and friendly. The communication was great. I would love to have them stay with us for a longer time next time. Thanks guys for choosing us.
Leora was lovely and I enjoyed hosting her. She was very respectful of the cabin and had great suggestions. I hope she returns.
Leora sent her aunt and uncle to my lovely cabin in Lake Tahoe. They were
