Monte Jazmin is a must have experience! The pictures don't do the place justice. From the moment we arrived in Pereira, the family took care of everything from transport, sightseeing and food - this included arranging a personal tour of the coffee plantation, the city and then a jeep tour of salento and valley of cocora. Their passion for the farm and their guests is very apparent. I highly recommend.
Montet Jasmin a spectacular location nestled in the middle of a beautiful Coffee plantation. German, Carmen and their son Santiago are delightful hosts. Their positive energies and attention to service was much appreciated by all of us.
Is a great place to chill and absorb natures goodness. Lots of birds for the avid bird watchers. Nice areas for walking with lovely scenery.
After traveling to over 30 countries in the past year this has been my favorite experience!
Carmen her husband Herman, son Santi and Manuela became family very quickly. We were welcomed with meals with the produce from the farm. They took the time to tell us all about how the coffee is grown and produced.
They also had a driver to take us wherever we needed to go in his mountain Jeep and for 20$ a trip I thought was very reasonable, plus one of the best times driving through the bush.
We had our separate cabin with amazing views of the farm and valley. It's easy to be peaceful in a place like this.
I look forward to the day I can go back.
We stayed another night because we had such a nice dinner the first night. Carmen didn't disappoint; we had a BBQ with the whole family and it was epic.
This is a gem of a place!! Nestled in the mountains outside of Pereira you will not find a more unique and satisfying experience in the coffee triangle of Colombia. Worth its own trip to Pereira (which boasts an airport!) the Monte Jazmin far exceeded my expectations.
Make no mistake you are transported to another place. The meals which Carmen cooks are divine and fillings. Her family plays a beautiful part in what makes this place special. The coffee that the family produces is an organic prize-winning brand (don't leave here without a dozen). The success can be attributed to the family's work-ethic.
Make sure they get you in touch with one of the Jeeps; what a thrill. We can't wait to return!!
From the moment we landed to the day we left the family made heroic efforts to make us feel wanted and welcomed. Carmen and Herman were attentive and gracious hosts and their son, Santiago, was funny, intelligent, and inquisitive (in a nice way) and he came with us wherever we went and made the experiences much more enjoyable. Trust the family to help you with the planning, definitely get as many meals as possible as Carmen is a fabulous cook & most of the food is grown on the farm. Try and make sure Santiago can accompany you & pay for his entrance fees etc. (well worth having him help you have a tremendous time), and enjoy Herman’s delightful and informative tour of their Finca (farm). On the free tour Herman gave us fruits growing on the farm, trusted us with using a machete and even gave the ladies in our group lovely exotic flowers that grow wild on their farm. The family hooked us up with Lus Marina, a funny & great companion and friend of the family to take us everywhere in her comfortable van at reasonable prices. The Finca is rustic and not all the roads are paved going to the Finca so we highly recommend getting the family to help you with the visit. The family is keen to get suggestions and feedback and does act on that feedback.
