Amazing city, we went around the area it has a shopping mall right across the street called giant. Os was great we talked about a lot of different topics and he gave us exact directions on how to the take the bus too the downtown central area and we had a great time there as well checking out jonker street. All in all the experience was amazing their dinner they cooked for us was perfect (try the eggplant and potatoes) and there was a unique Arab scramble eggs for breakfast you can't get anywhere else
Nice couple, I hope to see you here again in the future.
谢谢, and have good times in Malaysia.
We stayed at Os's and his wife's homestay for 3 nights. Our room upstairs was simple but comfortable, peaceful and clean, and was equipped with a private bathroom. In addition to the inclusive breakfast, we ate dinner here twice. We can truly say the Food Tourism House lives up to it's name: the food was excellent, and the hosts put effort in providing us alternatives that suited our diet (no meat). They also helped us with all our concerns, and Os offered to drive us around in his car for a reasonable fee. This was good, since as described, the guest house is a bit away from the city center.
Thanks for the tasty experience!
Mr. Os was a very quick respondent to my urgent request to stay in one of his homestay near Melaka Sentral. He also sent me an very informative map regarding the walking path from Sentral to his place. Very helpful indeed! Upon my arrival, Os's son was very friendly welcoming me, also he introduced me to my room and out of expectation I got an ample room that attached to bathroom. One more plus side, the Wifi is very good in the house! I can do some email and online research very conveniently. Unfortunately, my trip this time was very time-limited and a short one. If not, I will sure joining the home-cooked meal and cooking classes that organized by the host. All in all, definitely an A+ homestay, and I will love to come back again some time soon for more interaction with the host. Also, recommending for anyone who wants to experience the life as a Malaysian.
Thank you Grace. I and my family like decent travelers like you.
It was a very pleasant stay at Os's appartment. The apartment is well equipped, even a washing machine - we desperately needed one after our jungle experience. The apartment was simple but spacious and clean.
Os is a great host and he has a really nice family, whom we met at his wife's malaysian cocking course. The seven-course meal was delightful and we had a really great evening with them and three other guests.
Os and his wife are lovely people, and Os is a good communicator with his clients. He collected me at Melaka Sentral Bus Stn. and brought me to their lovely apartment which I had entirely to myself as there were no other guests staying at the time.
It is a lovely apartment --- spotlessly clean and comfortable. They very thoughtfully left some bread -- tea etc for me. The information he gave me re the City and locality was invaluable.
Buses to the city don't always stop if you are between bus stops, and it is a good walk to the city which is a lovely and interesting place. Do try the Baba Nonya cuisine !
My time was limited-- 2days-- but Os helped me to make the most of it. For a v reasonable fee he collected me and brought me to the Botanical Gardens where I walked through and then on to Mini Melaka ( don't miss this !). He collected me there and brought me to their house for a typical Malaysian meal cooked by his lovely wife---- wonderful food. I also met his daughter and son who drove me bk. to the apartment. A great day out and lovely people. I would highly recommend Os and his wife's hospitality.
Os and his wife were extremely welcoming and helpful - providing an array of tasty Malaysian snacks on arrival.
One evening his wife - a charming, ever-smiling lady - gave an excellent class in Arab and Malaysian cooking. She carefully explained and clearly demonstrated how to make a seven-course meal, which we then all sat down and enjoyed. It was both educational and scrumptious. I have since been e-mailed a list of recipes, which I am looking forward to trying out in Australia and in Scotland.
A warm and friendly atmosphere in the house - and an insight into real Malaysian life. Recommended.
Thank you professor Charles, I and my wife hope to see you again in the future and we wish you happy journey to Australia.
Very nice couple. They can arrange pick up service from the malacca central, and drop you to where you want to go as well. But if you want to save coat can use the their bycle for free. Most important is you can have the local Malay breakfast there
Our 2-night stay with this family was wonderful. Mr Os loves to talk and shared many of his interesting ideas with us about social and political subjects. His wife and son are so friendly and kind. The room is exactly like in the pictures. For an extra fee his son will pick you up/bring you from bus station/city centre (very convenient, makes up for location a bit away from the centre) and you can have delicious home cooked meals. Good option for a short stay in Melaka.
My boyfriend and I were travelling in Malaysia for 3 weeks starting in Melakka at Os's house. The time we spend with this family is one of our best memories of the holiday. It was a beautiful house with a nice room, we had the best food we ate in Malaysia and they were very friendly! We recommend it to everybody!
I stayed with Os and his family while travelling through Malaysia and hope to return there in future. The food was amazing and it was great to hang out with the family and relax. It felt like a home away from home and was very comfortable. I visited the town on one day but spent the rest at the family home. The botanical gardens is a lovely, peaceful place to walk if you get the chance.
