Hi my name is Dave. I think you will love San Juan Del Sur just as I do once you have visited. There is so many things to do besides just hang out at the beach. Volcanos, jungles, fishing, boating, this is an amazing place to visit.

Five Star Rating out of Five! The wow factor of this place is unbelievable! I stayed here from April 1st thru 10, 2015 & had an enjoyable time relaxing. I didn't think I could get anyone relaxed having spent the entire month of March in Costa Rica. However, I did! That speaks volumes of how relaxing an experience it is. The trifecta of an amazing view, sound of the waves crashing ashore, & refreshing breeze all made for a magic potion that will put you at ease.
Ask Dave to hook you up with Oscar to take you there from the airport or wherever you are coming from. He is very nice & trustworthy. He dropped me off to eat lunch and I left my luggage in his care without any worry before heading back out to Managua to leave.
Everything you may need, you can find it in the apartment. Just get food & condiments as needed. If you're a heavy water drinker as I am (I drink mostly water all day long), then budget about a gallon of water per person per day. It's C$35 (C$=Córdoba) per gallon. Electric is same as USA no need to get adapters.
The property is guarded 24hours per day. For one or two nights, I was the only one staying there out of about 60-70 units and I still felt safe. I walked the beach at night (but not very late into the night) with no issues whatsoever. If you go to the Pulperia, it is kind of like (email hidden) when at the register for paying. If you wait for them to call you, then others that come afterwards will get to pay and leave before you. The servers can seem aloof at restaurants, at times, but that's just the manifestation of their culture. If you find that you don't understand something, then it's most likely a cultural thing. There is a good book on Nicaragua in the unit that sheds light on customs & interactions. Enjoy SJDS!
Beautiful condo with an amazing view. Kitchen had all items we needed to cook in a few times. Condo is very safe & is not too far from the pool or beach. As others mentioned it is a 15-20 min walk in to town, so that is a factor to consider. Otherwise a great place to stay and visit SJDS.
We had a FANTASTIC time at Dave's condo in San Juan del Sur. The facilities were excellent and very secure, the condo was clean and the balcony is perfect for enjoying meals. Plus you can't beat the beach access!
The walk into town is not long at all, 15 minutes tops and you're able to walk directly on the beach. Dave was responsive, set us up with his wonderful driver, Oscar and his guide was great for the town.
We can't wait to return!
Absolutely loved the place. Perfect place to relax and enjoy life.thanks for having us.
Three of my colleagues and I stayed at Dave's condo over four days.
All-in-all, we had an AMAZING experience in Dave's condo. It's located in a secure condo-like neighborhood called the Talanguera which is tucked into the final portion of beach-front. on the north end of the curved-shaped beach at San Juan del Sur. Dave's communication before the trip was extensive and he left us with all of the resources we needed to know about the condo, how to get there, how to access, and what we would be provided with. The head of the condo association was prompt in getting us our keys, picking the keys up, and even offered to help us arrange a ride back to Managua at the end of our trip. Dave provided tips and tricks about where to visit, how to get around, and rules / regs of the condo which was very nice. He also provided internet, cable TV, and a phone to call into town if necessary (all three came in handy :)
What we loved:
-- AMAZING view of the San Juan del Sur bay right off the balcony.
-- Beautiful and clean condominium neighborhood (gated)
-- GREAT accommodations. Furniture, artwork, washer/dryer, TV's, kitchenware, beds, showers, trash disposal ... all of it was top-notch.
-- Felt very SECURE. There was private security monitoring the property 24/7 at all of the entrances and the pool (right off the beach).
-- POOL was beautiful, well kept, and right next to a beautiful outdoor cabana with couches / tables and an empty bar where a group could easily enjoy lunch / dinner / drinks next to the pool.
Just a heads up:
-- It's a 17-20 minute walk down the beach from the condo door to the outskirts of the beach-front stores / restaurants / bars. Not a bad walk at day or night, but we collectively decided we'd declassify it as a short-walk.
-- Prepare with groceries for meals on DAY 1 because there aren't restaurants / bars near the condo. You'll have to take a cab into town (5-8 minute ride) or take the 17-20 minute walk down the beach. This travel can add up if you are eating three meals a day, or even two).
-- Very professional private security in place (pistols, uniforms, radios). They gave us a hard time about entering back from the beach (near the pool) after a day in town, but after a few days began to recognize us. Overall they were very friendly, but none of them spoke English (just a heads up :)
Thank you Dave for hosting us in your beautiful place. I would recommend anyone to visit your condo and thank you for letting us be apart of the San Juan del Sur experience via your condo.

we stayed in SJDS for 8 days in August . the place is new , the furniture are beautiful and new, the kitchen has all the thing that you need and of course a million dollars view.
We absolutely enjoyed our vacation at your condo in SJDS. The location is great and convenient. The complex is extremely nice, clean, well kept, and secure. Your condo is tastefully decorated, comfortable, has a great view, and has all the amenities you have come to expect. Internet service works great too! In short, this is one experience to remember for a long time to come - and we expect to come back again soon.
This is great place to stay! Great view! Its a 10 minute walk to town so you don't have to hear any noise coming from town. We really enjoyed it!
The listing is just as pictured and the views are amazing! The Aircon is ice cold and we enjoyed our time very much. The beds are comfortable and the living room is a great place to chill out. I would love to spend a month there!
The condo is new, extremely well equipped, and only steps from the beach. It was a lot of fun to float in the infinity pool and watch the waves roll in. Downtown SJDS is a 5 - 10 minute walk along the beach. Great location!
The property manager - Kerstin - did a great job settling us in and was very accommodating when we had to move up our departure time by 90 minutes.
One small issue I had was that the internet connection was extremely slow. Dial up slow. It's fine for checking email or Facebook, but if you have any sort of work to do you'll need to go elsewhere. For most folks this is probably not an issue as you'll be enjoying all that SJDS has to offer. But if you rely on the internet for work you'll need something better. Perhaps the El Gato Negro book store.
