I was born in New Orleans, but lived elsewhere for 20 years: Mississippi, New York City and Berlin, Germany. Since 2011 I am now based in New Orleans and working from here.

As a native New Orleanian, I can say that the Irish Channel is the best spot to see New Orleans. You can easily get to Magazine or hop a trolley and get down to the Quarter or go Uptown to great restaurants. And I would definitely recommend Caroline's home as the place to stay while you are in New Orleans. The house is really spacious and very comfortable. It is a beautiful home. Caroline was very attentive and gave us lots of great ideas for restaurants and things to do. My family stayed there for a month and we are looking forward to returning as soon as possible. I highly recommend Caroline's place for anyone looking for the ultimate vacation experience in New Orleans. No need to look elsewhere on Airbnb, this is the best place in New Orleans.
Great house in a great area.
The French Quarter may be interesting but if you want to experience how the locals live you wont be disappointed. It's only two blocks below Magazine Street and dozens of shops, bars, and restaurants. Walk a few more blocks to get to the street car and all the Garden District has to offer.
We especially enjoyed the two hour walking tour of the Garden District ((website hidden)_set.html)
We LOVED this property and the owner Caroline was fantastic to work with! We stayed for the 1st week of Jazz Fest and the location was perfect. We shared the space with another couple and a single friend and there was plenty of space for all. Our neighbor was Caroline's Mom who was an amazingly sweet woman that we enjoyed chatting with. We only wished we could stay longer. I would highly recommend this rental to anyone for any occasion when they're coming to New Orleans!!! THE BEST!!!
We stayed here during Mardi Gras and had a terrific visit. The home itself is beautiful: amazing kitchen/breakfast area, huge bedroom and sitting area on the first floor. Really nice art throughout, it feels like a home.
The location is ideal, walking distance to great places on Magazine Street. And ideal for seeing the Mardi Gras parades without the madness of the Quarter. Off street parking is also a huge plus.
As a transplanted New Orleanian it was a perfect fit for a visit. Highly recommended.
Beautiful home. Meticulously clean, comfortable and exceptionally warm environment. Easy access to all points of New Orleans. Quiet and safe neighborhood. Great for single traveller as well as a family. Would definitely return here on next visit!
The house was beautiful with high ceilings and a lovely sun filled kitchen. Our group of 5 had plenty of space and loved relaxing at the house in between walks up and down Magazine Street. The neighborhood was perfectly located for us; charming, safe, close to great restaurants and shopping. Caroline was very attentive and easy to work with. A great host and a great house! We'd love to stay there again in the future!
Excellent stay. Home is spacious and comfortable. Extremely close to Garden District, cool shops and transportation. A highly recommended stay.
Caroline provided us with a wonderful New Orleans experience in her home. The décor was eclectic and artistic. We loved the windows in the kitchen overlooking the patio. It was obvious the home is full of fun family times. It was convenient to the places we wanted to visit, and provided a relaxing escape when we were not exploring. Definitely met our needs!
The experience in this beautiful Irish Channel Double was out of this world. Caroline's home is an exquisite gem in the heart of New Orleans with friendly neighbors and an even friendlier host.
My wife, mother-in-law, son, and I got to experience first hand this beautiful home and enjoy all of the comforts of home at a very reasonable rate. The home sports solid wood flooring (which our son enjoyed playing on immensely), an amazing kitchen with all of the fixins, and an amazing upstairs with room for all of us in two bedrooms upstairs.
The home was central to much of the traditional New Orleans hotspots (French Quarter, Cafe du Monde, etc.,), but it also was near lots of cute, trendy shops on Magazine street (which is within walking distance). It felt at times that we didn't even need the rental car we had for the time we were in New Orleans.
Caroline was incredibly helpful and was available to help us whenever we needed a hand with anything. She was the perfect hostess coupled with the perfect home. I would highly recommend the use of her lovely home in Irish Channel to anyone who wants to see true New Orleans in a car, on foot, or just every morning when they wake up in their beds.
Caroline and her family were so helpful and the house was perfect! We were there for most of the month of July and had great access to all of the great shops on Magazine Street, a local playground and all that the city has to offer! We actually needed temporary lodging while we looked for a place to live and Caroline's house was a great home for our family of three and our dog! Our 5-year-old loved the toys and the many kid spaces in the house.
Caroline and her family were always available to answer questions--even when we heard a strange beeping and thought it might be an alarm at 5 am!!!! (It wasn't the alarm, it was a smoke detector and things were just fine!) but Caroline DID answer our phone call! And her other family members were great tour guides, showing us the wonderful, local eats (like Parasol's!!) and telling us stories that could only happen in a city like New Orleans!
As weary travelers seeking a home, this place could not have been better!
Great guest and great experience! Thanks again
