Love cooking, gardening, home decor and dogs. Easy going, no drugs or alcohol and very friendly. In my free time I like to monkey around the garden or public botanical. Always very young at heart!

I want so badly to write a glowing review because my husband and I truly enjoyed our stay. Both Wendy and the resort staff were extremely pleasant and helpful, despite some extenuating circumstances I need to explain. Los Cabos was hit by a hurricane last fall that caused extensive damage. We had heard about this before we booked, but the listing made it appear that the hotel was fully opened and ready for business. It should have been a red flag that Wendy was asking us to take photos of the newly renovated room for her, but this was our first experience renting a timeshare so it seemed reasonable that she wouldn't have seen the renovations herself yet. In retrospect, she should have pushed them to give her all the details or taken the listing down until she had them. A couple weeks before our trip we received a letter detailing which parts of the resort were opened and which were not. Our flight was already booked so we took a leap of faith that if they were comfortable opening it couldn't be that bad. The things that were closed -- gym, spa, part of the massive pool -- didn't bother us. We planned to just lounge at the pool and do some water sports activities anyway, so some painting/landscaping/finishing touches wouldn't both us. But after less than 24 hours at the resort there were several things that were not as they were represented...
- Upon check in we received a letter explaining the need for construction from 8am-9pm every day. It was loud, constant, and audible from our room, the pool and restaurant.
- The plunge pools were not functioning.
- There was water damage to the floor in our room -- no smell or anything, just kinda creepy seeing where the water seeped under the door.
- The pool was not heated yet and there was no hot tub in the open area. Also, the pool was under-filled so not technically an infinity pool and put the loungers above water.
- No water sports available on the premises. Your best option is to go 30 minutes away to Cabo San Lucas (we learned to take the bus which was actually surprisingly pleasant).
All of that said, here is what we loved...
- The room was large and clean.
- The resort truly is grand and its easy to see the potential when complete
- Peaceful escape away from the party vibe of San Lucas
- Great service -- friendly and attentive staff, someone always around when you need them. Generous with happy hours and free drinks (possibly compensating for construction). In the end they comped us a portion of our incidentals to make up for the construction.
- Wendy was in constant communication throughout the week once she learned what was happening
I've learned my lesson about making sure I have all the details, but when they are 100% back up and running I would absolutely go back.
Right from our arrival I knew that this was going to be a great experience. Wendy and Kevin are great hosts. Their home is beautiful and they made us feel as part of the family. Our accommodations were perfect for us.
Wendy & Kevin are courteous, nice, and the accomodations were top notch. The home is peaceful, tranquil, and very safe.
I highly recommend this place.
Wendy was a perfect hostess. My wife and I were on a road trip from L.A. to Seattle, and our first leg landed us in the Stockton area. Wendy's ad was the most inviting, and it proved to be the most unique. Her home is very comfortable, and very colorful, with lots of amazingly decorative touches throughout. She made banana bread for us as a late-night snack, and even cooked omelettes for us the next morning, topped with fresh tomatoes from her backyard garden! We were very pleased with our choice and would happily recommend Wendy to others who are looking for somewhere to stay in the Lathrop/Stockton area.
This is my best one I have never live before, and she gave me her advice about my travel and even she email me her plan, if you want to stay in this city, come to her house, she will make excellent breakfast for you.
What can I say about my hosts Wendy and Kevin? They were absolutely great!! I had a blast staying with them. It felt like home away from the way they embraced me. We cooked, washed dishes, baked pies, macaroons, shopped, etc together. I learned a lot because they are both so knowledgable. And they can easily get you hooked on a Netflix show. I thoroughly enjoyed my time here. The house is in a great neighborhood that is quiet has a couple parks good for walking/biking. The room was quite comfortable with a full bathroom next door. Both clean and spacious. The kitchen is stocked and fully loaded. Any and everything you need to cook, chip, pit, core, blend, etc is in that kitchen somewhere. Appliances I didn't know existed. The backyard is a treat to walk around in as well. They have a few turtles back there just chilling. One may get lost back there every now and then. Oh and I can't forget the ladies of the house Asia and Daisy. So cute and great at begging. They had me wrapped around their finger. It's a great place to stay if you are in these parts.
We had a nice stay. The room and the bathroom was very clean. Wendy gave us a lot of tips near the area. Wendy also cooked us a delicous breakfast. Thank you so much.
Wendy is so sweet and friendly, we instantly felt at-home! She has a keyless entry which was great and convenient. On our bed was a goodie bag filled with candy and a homemade pamphlet with the wifi code, pictures of her pups, and good places to eat in the area. She went out of her way to ensure we were comfortable and I appreciated her hospitality. Her dogs are adorable and very friendly! Overall a great stay, and a VERY comfortable bed!
Wendy's home is the perfect place to stay; she is incredibly welcoming and she keeps a super clean and comfortable home. I'm honored to be able to stay in a place such as hers.
I don't like using the l-word that much, but I can honestly stay that I LOVE the time I spent with Kevin and Wendy, their dogs, and their home. I stayed with them for more than a month and in that time, we became friends! They're wonderful people: incredibly friendly, generous, fun, all of the pleasant adjectives you can think of. When I say friends, I don't mean that they barged into my room wanting to always hang out, but it was in the way where I felt like I was really at home and could really talk to them. I felt so comfortable, none of that tip-toeing around awkwardness. But when I did awkwardly tip-toe around, they made it clear that it shouldn't be like that, so it wasn't. If I'm ever in this part of town, I will stay and visit them. You should too. So much better than hotel/motel life. You'll get to witness the life of two happy people and their happy dogs. It makes you really happy too. They're the things that you'll look forward to when you're coming home from work or whatever your case may be.
If you're sick of hearing about my crush on them and just want to hear about their actual home, then here it goes. They're house is really cute. Lots of homey stuff in it. It really is a quiet, safe, and relaxing chill pad. It's clean and feels like home. Smells good. Nice place to be. If privacy is what you want, privacy is what you will get. Like I said, they have dogs. If you're a dog person, then you'll want to meet these dogs. Even if you aren't a dog person (unless you're allergic to them), they will stay out of your way. They won't jump on your bed if you leave your door open, but they probably will come up to you and sniff you out. You'll like it.
So there you have it! I'm telling you, if you're in Lathrop/Tracy/Manteca for some odd reason, stay here! There's not too much nearby, except the necessities: Target, gas stations, food places, and groceries, but San Francisco is about an hour and 20 minutes away. The Bay Area is an hour away, depending on what city, it may be less than that. Stockton is less than 20 minutes and so is Manteca. Tracy is around 10 minutes away. I liked living here (besides getting to know Wendy and Kevin) because it made me explore the surrounding areas.
Sounds corny, but Wendy and Kevin are life-changers. I firmly believe in being a good person, but I'm also aware that there are not enough good people in the world. These two wonderful human beings prove that wrong. They've motivated me to go above and beyond being good. They're also incredibly hilarious. Don't miss out. :)
If you have any questions, please send me a message! I would like to help out in any way that I possibly can.
Wendy is a lovely, warm person and makes an ideal guest. She's very polite, helpful, appreciative, generous and great company. My place was was left clean and it was a treat to receive cakes!
nice family ciao wendy next time
I inquired about one of Wendy's room, I needed to find a place quick !!! I am in the area for a temporary work assignment and did not know a thing about area. Wendy came to the FAST rescue with offering her home to me even if it was very temporary. She not only offered to help me in anyway she could, she offered advice on the area, offered places to go and not to go. Wendy has even contacted me to make sure I was OK and safe. I ended up not staying with her, because of size of what she had available and I was lucky to find something else. But Wendy is my "angel" in this area. She is "top" notch !!!!! She truly helped me from her heart and soul, didn't have to do with booking a room one bit. I trust Wendy wholeheartedly. YOU can not go wrong staying with her. I recommend Wendy (phone number hidden)%
I've known Wendy since the second grade. She's gregarious, dependable and caring to a fault. Plus, she's tidy to boot!
