Toshi's place was perfect for my boyfriend and I, we went over on a pretty tight budget so staying a month with Toshi allowed for more sightseeing. Toshi is very generous and even though it's a share house everyone keeps different hours so it nearly always feels like you have a house in Tokyo to yourself. The Yazaike train station is extremely close and the Nippori Toneri liner makes sure you can get where you need to go, in our last week they even extended the operating hours, which makes it easier to get home. Toshi was extremely welcoming albeit very busy with work, he was accomodating of our needs and a perfect host.
Thank you for your visit! I know my house is not perfect but you were kind enough to tell me that you were enjoying your stay. I would always welcome you again^^
Great stay at Toshi's house. It is situated right next to the Toneri Liner Yazaike station, so going to downtown Tokyo is easy as it gets (connection to the Yamanote line at Nippori and nishi Nippori), if a little expensive. There are three convenience stores nearby, and a supermarket that is open 24h a day to cover your needs.
The house in itself was reasonnably clean. All the charges were included in the price listed, including household necessities like toilet papers and detergents. Keep in mind that this is a shared house, so your experience is greatly dependent on the people staying there. The people staying upstairs of our room during our stay were noisy and often left the kitchen untidy (we mostly ate out, so it wasn't that much of an issue). On the opposite side, we met a really nice and quiet guy who was there to welcome us. He showed us how things worked and was really helpful. He even bought us gifts and souvenirs whenever he went out !
As for Toshi himself, he is a very busy man. We didn't get to see him much, but he is really nice and friendly. He made sure our stay was as comfortable as possible. He even took us for a flight around Nagoya castle in his airplane absolutely free of charge, and took us home in his car during the night ! If your schedules match, I'm sure he will gladly do the same for you. He works for the tourism agency, so I'm sure he can help you out picking sights to see and things to do in the area.
We can highly recommend his house if you can get and idea of who else is staying at the house at the time. And if there ever is a problem, Toshi is always reachable either by phone or e-mail.
Toshi was a gracious host and the house is very clean and organized. Our room had a lot of light, a small balcony, and a big closet. The neighborhood is quiet and far from central but all the necessities are there: a convenience store is right around the corner, and a ten minute walk will take you either to a cheap grocery store or to a large public park, which in Tokyo is a relative luxury. There are interesting places nearby if you are willing to do a bit of walking or cycling around.
Toshi was very nice! He was very polite and agreeable. Whenever we needed something, he was always there to help.
I was very welcomed and Toshi, despite being abroad when I arrived, made sure his father showed me around and had me settled in. I was overall very happy. A few things to note for future AirBNB'ers. While there are two toilets, one on the first (ground) floor and second floor, they are shared, so keep that in mind. There is one shower on the first (ground) floor, that is shared by everyone in the house, so it should be kept clean by everyone. Kitchen on the second floor was nice. I do however wish there was a nice common area of some sort...living/family room. The kitchen does not count, Toshi. And of course my only real and #1 complaint was WiFi. It went down at least a dozen times during my month long stay, and I even bought a new router from Akihabara, but that did not help. It had to be a problem with the internet provider, as this was constant across my phone, laptop, and my friend's laptop. I asked him to fix it please or have KDDI (the provider) take a look but didn't do so. So I'm taking off 1-star for the very crappy internet experience, since it was our portal to get things done and go out and about, and not something I had control over or I would have fixed it myself. Everything else however was fine, my privacy was respected and we had a wonderful time with our housemates. Do expect to clean and help others keep the place tidy, however! Oh one last thing...there is no TV anywhere. So make sure you bring a laptop!
Great place, very close to the train station. The house is nice to live with all we need. We can find the famous cheaper shop Seiyu from 15 min of the house, that is very important ! Toshi is very kindly. We recommand.
Toshi's place is very nice. A new house, very close to the train station and close to the large Toneri park. It is the perfect place to stay for longer periods, but keep in mind most people staying there work, so you need to keep yourself occupied.
Toshi is an amazing host! Always calm and friendly! May recommend this place to everybody!!
Truly had an amazing stay at Toshi's house. Everything is provided for you in the kitchen, laundry, the iconic Japanese toilet! There are many convenience stores nearby, Post Office. Seiyu and the Nippori Toneri Liner station just 5min away from which you can see Tokyo Sky Tree, Tokyo Tower and Mt Fuji all in the front window of the train! The people who live there are amazing and really nice, though you don't see them much! Toshi will do all he can to make your stay more easier and helps you whenever you need it. He is such a nice and polite person and I wish him and his girlfriend all the very best! The one month in Japan turned into one of the best experiences in my life and I hope to go there often now. Thank you so much Toshi-san!!!
