cadaques , ok
Finding the place was a bit challenging. The view from the outside patio is decent but not as good as it is shown in the photos. You do not see any water from the patio but get a nice view of the mountains. Also, this is not a very convenient place to go out for dinner and they do not provide any. Breakfast is in a lovely room that overlooks the bay and it is truly spectacular. The staff is nice and friendly but you better know some Spanish or Catalan or you're in for a challenge.
Really cosy place in the old town, just by the church. Bakery, grocery and delicatessen two minutes away.
Very close to the center, the appartment is Nice and confortable. But the noise in the morning from the supermarket below is very annoying, and disturbing for the price.
We spent a wonderful few days in Cadaques in this tiny but lovely old little house right at the heart of the old town. From there on most things are pretty much walking distance. We were a young family of four and found ourselves very comfortably in the quaintly decorated little two-story home. Its location in the old narrow pedestrian streets surely make for some noise of passers-by, and one has to accept the bell chimes of the nearby church around the clock. But all things considered, the neighbourhood proved wonderful. We were unfortunate in our attempt to prolong our stay...
This is a very nice villa with an exceptional view of Cadaques and its bay. It was lovely to enjoy a glass of wine on the balcony and enjoy the stunning vista. The villa itself is a good-size, the rooms are nice, with the exception of the 4th bedroom which is an annex off the kitchen and feels a bit like the servants' quarters (although my daughter didn't mind it!) The kitchen is well-equipped. The pool and the decking area are beautiful. You should realise that it is a shared pool with the villa next door, but this wasn't really a big deal for us. There is parking for 2 cars right next to the villa which is handy. And even more useful is the shop, also next to the villa, which stocks a lot of basic provisions. The staff were helpful and friendly but almost none of them speak English, so it helps if you can communicate in Spanish or Italian or even French. The walk into town is a pleasant 15 minute stroll. Cadaques is surely one of the most charming seaside towns in Spain, a "white town", with atmospheric cobbled backstreets, an undulating seafront, and a pretty church rising above all the other buildings. With its Dali heritage there is an 'arty' edge to the place – it's not too perfect or precious. If you haven't been, you should go! And I'd recommend Rec De Dalt as a place to stay.
Casa con mucho encanto en el casco antiguo de Cadaqués. Muy fiel a lo que el anuncio mostraba.
Very nice little house. Perfect for a family with kids. Perhaps slightly older kids, we had to chase our 1-year old to keep him from not climbing up the stairs.. Very nice outside area where we had all of our meals. The trees and bushes gave shadow part of the day and offered privacy. Nice pool area with beautiful wiew. There is two separate pools, one suited for kids (slightly older ones, quite a few steps here and there). All in all we had a great couple of days in this house and would recommend it! It's larger than it appears in the pictures, has two toilets and a well equipped kitchen. The host was very friendly and we felt welcomed.
Siempre estamos encantados de intentar dar un buen servicio ,gracias
WE STAYED AT REC NOU FRO 1-8 JUNE. ALTHOUGH WE ENJOYED OUR STAY AND THE STAFF WERE VERY WELCOMING IT WAS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO CONVERSE WITH THEM WITH ANY OF THE ISSUES WE HAD TO ASK. We felt that the downstairs area needed a lot of work to make it suitable for couples to stay. It was only ADEQUATE. The bathroom doors wouldn’t shut, which made it difficult to get any privacy, one bedroom was full of very musty old books, and the noise and lights from the shop, which was outside the 2 downstairs bedrooms went on until after midnight every night and made it very difficult to sleep and was very intrusive.
The kitchen was full of old, broken, mismatched and dirty crockery, glasses and cookware and badly needs a cleanout.
A fact sheet with how to find the airconditioner, which is behind a picture in the bedroom and how to turn it on etc would have been appreciated. We battled with extreme heat for 5 days before we could get anyone to understand what we wanted. As we all had to open the windows to get any air in we were driven crazy by mosquitoes, so a warning or spray would have been very helpful.
It would be good if the other guests staying at the hotel were advise that Rec Nou is not the toilet amenities for the pool, as one of the hotel guests just walked into our place to use the toilet facilities. Plus guests would use the pool early in the morning or late at night and our bedroom door was right next to it and people would be swimming in the pool and looking into our bedroom door, which had to be open for some air. See door on right hand side of picture.
We could not get the TV to work at all so instruction sheet would be very handy.
It would be good to advise people renting the place that it is part of a hotel complex and that you are sharing the pool with other guests from the hotel.
One day there was a photo shoot for Desigual and we weren’t allowed outside and had to close all our doors and windows for the day so they could take the photos they needed.
It’s a beautiful place with lovely views, but it needs to be looked at from the eyes of someone staying there to realise that there is a lot that can make it truly special and as it is it’s only adequate.
