I liked Amy and Peter's cottage so much the first time, that I had to come back for another visit. Such a fantastic place to get away for the weekend. Amy and Peter are great hosts. Very accommodating, and very helpful.
For guests visiting during the winter - four wheel drive vehicles may be helpful in heavy snow or ice. My little front wheel drive rental car did ok, but 4WD would have been better.
Another fantastic trip. Thanks Amy and Peter!
My boyfriend and I had a fantastic weekend away from the city at the cottage. Amy was very welcoming and helpful from the very beginning. The cottage itself is a dream - all the amenities are as promised, and even more impressive in person than they are in the photos. We enjoyed the dual headed shower and watching an on-demand movie from the flatscreen TV. The bed is also extremely comfy - we both slept great! There are two dogs on the property who are adorable and friendly, and we enjoyed waking up to the two of them lounging in the snow outside our window. Overall, a wonderful experience. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a quiet retreat with luxurious accommodations!
Highly recommended. Idyllic, peaceful location and superb, caring hosts. The cottage is cozy, private and well appointed, with a very comfortable bed. We loved everything about our stay, from the beautiful surroundings to the gorgeous dogs, to the delicious scones! Thank you for a very relaxing break.
The cottage is better than you could possibly imagine -- modern, clean, cosy and well-equipped with everything you'd need. Amy was very welcoming and thorough in explaining how everything worked, and had lots of advice for stuff to do in the area. We were late arriving because of traffic, but Amy was very hospitable and understanding. We even had fresh scones and local milk when we arrived. But despite Amy's awesome attentiveness, the cottage was very private and quiet. We felt like we were alone in the woods for the weekend, which is exactly what we had planned! This is the perfect weekend getaway for city folk who need a break.
A quick note about the location: Don't rely on GPS to find it. Apple Maps took us to a different location, though (website hidden) Maps seemed to be more accurate. Also, it gets pretty country out there, with lots of hills and narrow, bendy roads. Our little Prius just about made it out of there before an ice storm hit. If you're visiting in snow or icy conditions, I'd suggest a car with AWD.
We had a fantastic stay. Amy and Peter were more than welcoming and hospitable, and very helpful in suggesting activities, restaurants, and sightseeing around the area. The cottage was cozy and comfortable, and it was perfect for two people wanting a vacation in the warmth of a home. We would gladly return for another trip.
Our hosts Amy and Peter were very attentive and made sure we were settled in and understood all the important nuances of the cottage. They are very prepared, and have lots of contingencies and supplies in place even if they were unavailable for some reason.
The cottage itself was extremely charming and comfortable - we enjoyed everything about our stay. The decor is very tasteful and inviting. We made much use of the kitchen and didn't want for anything equipment-wise.
The living room was super comfy, and we always felt cozy despite the cold, rainy winter days.
The bathrooms are great, well appointed with quality fixtures. The warm, spacious shower rocks.
The bed was very comfortable - not too soft or hard and should accommodate most peoples' preferences. If you really like/need a certain thickness of pillow, you may want to consider bringing your own.
The dogs were very cute, friendly, well-behaved, and quiet, so unless you really dislike dogs for some reason, don't worry about them.
In summary, highly recommended. We had a great getaway weekend, and enjoyed our peaceful, secluded reset.
This was our first AirBnB experience, and we will certainly continue to explore new places using the services as it was tremendously pleasant! The place was very easy to get to if you followed Amy's direction. The cottage is located in a picturesque setting. We were warmly greeted by Amy, who showed us around. The house, appliances and furniture seemed brand new! The kitchen was big enough to make quite elaborate meals on New Year's eve. Bathrooms and showers were excellent! The cottage was perfectly sized for a couple that wanted to spend a couple of days away from the city, cooking, reading and playing board games. We spent a few hours exploring quaint towns and beautiful vistas nearby. Found fabulous restaurants and bakery's. The hosts were very attentive and kind. Great experience!
This beautiful little cabin was the perfect vacation away from the city. The pictures in the listing don't even do it justice. I was very comfortable for my entire stay. The shower may have been my favorite part, haha - the dual shower heads are fantastic. Amy and Peter were very accommodating and friendly. I plan on coming back for another peaceful retreat.
The cottage at Heidelberry is the perfect place to recharge after a stressful week. The cottage is cozy and romantic. The bedroom has windows on three sides and it makes you feel as though you are sleeping among the treetops. The bathroom has radiant heat and luxurious shower. Area attractions include historic Bethlehem, the Delaware river, and antiquing.
Wow... what a great experience! The pictures of the cottage don't do it any justice. It is so modern and beautiful, and roomy as well. And the surrounding area is picturesque.
Once inside, you will be blown away by the interior. The decorations are beautiful, and the amenities are to die for. Flat screen TV & DVD player worked perfect, there was an aux wire in which we hooked up our laptop to get Netflix. Perfect for locking in and having a winter getaway while vegging out to movies.
The kitchen was nicely equip for cooking both small and large meals. We made everything from a simple egg breakfast to a full on steak dinner. The two burner stove top is small but powerful. The combi convection/microwave oven was simple to use and worked extremely well. The grill provided us with an awesome alternative to make our steaks, and even though it was cold out the location of the grill to the house makes it easy to run out and throw the steaks on! And the stainless steel pan set made cooking a breeze.
The downstairs bath had heated tile floors, and in the shower there were TWO shower heads that hit you with water from both sides. Really relaxing and absolutely the best shower experience I have ever had.
The bed was super comfy and made for a dreamy nights sleep. When you go upstairs and get in that bed, it is impossible to stay awake. And the 2nd bathroom upstairs makes your life even easier.
The dogs are extremely friendly, as were the owners. Amy & Peter were super attentive, catering to all our needs. They helped out with our TV device hook-ups. And when we had a minor incident with the hot water heater turning off, they were over and in minutes to get it fixed (which they did instantly). They were extremely friendly and even baked us fresh SCONES! Not bad at all...
A beautiful location at such a reasonable price. Perfect for a weekend getaway. We highly recommend the cottage for a perfect PA mini vacay!
