I've been living in L.A. since February 2009, after 14 years in the San Francisco Bay Area. I am more adventurous than many. I love the world and look for opportunities to expand my perspective. I moved to L.A. to be CEO of a start-up. That didn't work out, but I discovered that I love L.A. and I am gradually exploring the region and meeting new people while I consider career options. I have been on sabbatical since May 2010. I love walking anywhere, hiking in the hills and mountains, running, and riding a bicycle on wide paved trails with no cars. I love the beautiful sky and the sound of birds chirping during quiet walks at dawn. I love music, especially classical but also jazz and much more. I love art in every form. I love down-hill and cross-country skiing. I love fresh, organic produce from local farmers. I love a good book. I love to teach, I love to learn, I love to share. I love to laugh, I love to sing. I love to experiment with my voice. I love simplicity. I love to travel - I enjoy a change of environment, revisiting places I've been and exploring new ones, seeing my friends and meeting new people. I love Airbnb because I can stay with someone who lives where I am visiting. I travel with as little baggage as possible and eat where the locals eat. If I don't know the language, I learn what I can beforehand and then try to improve while I'm there. I often do the usual tourist things, especially when visiting for the first time, but I also like to explore beyond.
