This is a nice studio in the hills above the coast in a residential neighborhood of Ka'paa. It had everything we needed - a comfortable bed and bathroom, a kitchen and refrigerator, a dining table, flat screen TV. All the comforts of home. I recommend this studio.
This apartment was very clean, attractive and private.
Better than advertised! My girlfriend and I stayed at Mike (and Jen's place) on a short trip to the islands. The place was even better than expected. The unit was spacious and extremely well kept. Great spot for the price.
Mike and Jen were very easy to communicate with. They responded promptly to questions and were very friendly on site. More importantly, they were very respectful with our privacy.
I highly recommend staying at this place.

My wife and I planned to be up at sunrise, hiking, swimming at the beaches, eating out all the time and back in the evening for sleeping while watching TV. This place fulfilled that perfectly. It is not a place to "hang out all day", cook meals or "socialize at" as you are in the middle of a quiet neighborhood which is a 5-7 minute drive from the main highway. It was clean, all appliances worked, the bath was good with plenty of towels. The ceiling fans worked well and the wifi is good for streaming video. Good solid bed and cable TV as well. A perfect alignment of our needs and the price point. We recommend it!
Kapaa was a great central location, and was easily accessible to all parts of the island. The city of Kapaa is great, and has a lot of restaurants and shops, and there is a lot to do around there. The studio was located in a nice quiet residential neighborhood. The unit was large enough for two people, However, though we kept the place very clean, I was bitten nonstop by bugs, and would even find them crawling all over me as I was in bed. I understand the tropic weather, and have spent a lot of time in Hawaii, and this was the first time I had been bitten so much. I also wish the beach gear was in better condition. We drove down to Poipu and did not fully examine the stuff before we got there. The mats were tattered and did not keep sand out and cooler lid would not stay on, and kept flying away. Though these were minor details, it made it harder for us to just lounge.
The Kauai Island Suite was a perfect situation for our stay in Kauai. The studio is in a quiet residential neighborhood. Kapa'a is right in the center of the island making it easy to get anywhere on the island. The apartment itself is spacious and the appliances and furniture are in great shape. The photos don't do it justice. The bed was extremely comfortable and we slept fabulously there. Mike provided beach towels and even left a cooler which came in handy for our farmers market outings. As the previous reviewer mentioned, we were sure to clean up after ourselves to avoid the little critters that are inevitable in the tropical environment of Kauai, but overall the apartment is extremely clean. This place is a great value and I highly recommend it.
The Kauai Island Suite was a fabulous getaway, tucked just 20 minutes away from the airport. The unit itself was surprisingly spacious for a studio, clean and perfect for two people. All of the fixtures and most of the furniture and appliances were brand new! During our 10 day stay, we didn't see many bugs at all, although we did make sure to clean up after ourselves after cooking/eating. The place is located in a great, central location on the island, can go in either direction to the end of Kuhio highway in about 1.5-2 hours depending on traffic. You will need a rental car and the studio is about a mile in from the beach (5 min. drive), wasn't an inconvenience for us at all. Close to several beaches, bike rentals, surf, snorkel, etc shop, supermarkets, fast food, restaurants, 24/7 laundromat (!), coffee shops and more. My husband and I are from NYC, it was great to get away but still have some of the conveniences from back home. Kapaa itself is a great little town with lots of places to go and things to do. We were quite impressed with the lodgings and location. We will most definitely be back to visit and will be sure to book this studio again - mahalo!
