We really enjoyed our stay. Jeff's cabin is comfortable and cozy. It is really well located, near beaches, restaurants, bike paths, and several interesting towns...
We especially appreciated the back porch where we ate all of our meals. The neighbourhood was very quiet, except for the proximity of the highway. Jeff was very quick and personable in responding to all of our email questions.
We would recommend adding a small table and two chairs for eating inside when the weather is cooler. Also, it could be good to add a few hooks and shelves to help with storage.
Our stay on the Cape was memorable. September is a great time of year to be there. We certainly recommend Jeff's cabin as a great base from which to explore.
I had the best time at Jeff and Sabines!
Their place is perfect, exactly how it is described, if not better!
Its in a really cool part of town - with probably the best rooftop in Brooklyn - seriously. The apartment is super clean and tastefully decorated. The shower is amazing and the kitchen is perfect if one likes to cook!
I will definitely be re-visiting.
Thanks J and S x
Jeff is a great host and a quick communicator. His local recommendations were very appreciated.
We had a great experience at Jeff's studio cottage. Everything was as advertised and the location really couldn't have been better. We went to the Great Pond in the evenings for quick dips (sticker required but we just stopped by and it was pretty laid back during the week and we never got a ticket) and went to Coast Guard beach twice. Would recommend that beach... shuttle service is very convenient and the beach is very wide so there's plenty of space to spread out if you don't want to be on top of people.
All in all we had a great experience. The $8.99 lobster roll down the street at the Nauset Market was amazing and half the price of other spots. There's also a breakfast place called Laura & Tony's Kitchen right around the corner that you HAVE to go to. Home cooked buffet brunch, all you can eat for only $12/person. Homemade bagels, smoked salmon, quiche, eggs benedict... and $3 Mimosa/Blood Mary's to boot. Best desert place that's worth the trip is down in Orleans-- a place called Hot Chocolate Sparrow. Tons of homemade baked deserts, ice cream, chocolates and the famous (and amazingly delicious) frozen hot chocolate. It is not just a chocolate milk shake. It will blow your mind.
The cottage itself has everything you need. We did a lobster bake no problem. While the location is set back from the road and only woods are behind the cottage, the giant sliding glass doors that look into your bedroom are only covered by thin bamboo shades. If you have the light on at night, you can see everything in the cottage. Not a big deal for some, but if you like to have the utmost privacy for any reason, consider bringing a sheet to place over the sliding door.
Lastly, if you are sensitive to light in the morning then bring some sleep shades. Light pours in everywhere. No direct sun, but if you have a hard time sleeping when there's light... consider this.
We'll be back for sure!
The cottage was great! Jeff was very quick with responses and we would definitely stay here again.
Thanks for the consistently quick communications/replies, Jeff. The cottage was great- clean and airy thanks to the shaded covered back deck and fantastic ceiling fan. Nice, quiet neighborhood.
Awesome location and cute cottage! Huge covered deck out back nearly doubles the living space. About .4 miles from an entrance to the Cape Cod Rail Trail. Would absolutely love to stay here again! Appreciated Jeff's tips for activities - especially his tip about taking a dip at Great Pond (also close by). Can't recommend this place enough for a Cape Cod getaway!
Excellent stay for a week. All is as described. Definitely recommend.
We had a nice stay.
Our stay at the cottage was fantastic. It was the perfect size for my husband and myself. The outdoor space was more private than we expected which was great and, since the weather was wonderful all week, we ate all of our meals on the great back porch. It's location was perfect, sort of middway from all of our favorite beaches and restaurants in both directions. Whether we were headed to wellfleet or eastham/orleans, we were never far. We come to the cape every year and this was one of our favorite cottages so far, we will definitely be back soon!! Thanks Jeff!
