The loft was just as nice as it appears in the pictures. It's spacious, bright and conveninently located. Accessing the unit and the parking garage was very easy. I didn't get to meet Jefferson, but he left the keys in a lock box and left a welcome basket with treats and a welcome letter that was very nice. My only complaint would be the bathroom and kitchen were not as clean as I would have liked. The rest of the unit was clean and the linens were fresh. I would definitely stay there again and recommend these accomodations to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in Old Pasadena.
Jefferson was friendly and quick to respond! He made it easy to get the keys and check in when we arrived late at night and made sure we had everything we needed. The loft was perfect for our LA trip, even bigger than it looked in the photos, well equipped and it was nice to have free parking right next door. The location was awesome, definitely in the heart of downtown! You can walk in any direction and find a good restaurant, lively night life and great shopping. It was conveniently located for day trips around LA and a fun place to come back to and explore. I'm looking forward to staying there again :)
Location is close to a metro, which is great if you don't have a car. If you do have a car, it's a bit of a hassle to find parking and usually have to park a couple blocks away. Little Tokyo is a very cute area, but beware of skid row where lots of homeless people habitats.
Cleanliness- The manager cleans the bathrooms pretty much every day. The kitchen can get a little messy since you are sharing with everyone in the building, but for the most part people clean after themselves. Be sure to bring cups, plates and utensils since these supplies are limited. The stove was broken for a week and the sinks leak.
The owner of the place referred me to contact the manager who left me a key in the lock box. I had trouble opening it, but was fortunate that someone who lived in the building could help. The manager seems very friendly, but is reluctant to help for small favours since he says it's not really part of his job description.
I stayed here while trying to find an apartment when I first arrived. This is truly the best value for your money. The price reflects the basic amenities. It's perfect for the person who will not spend much time in their hotel room and would rather spend money on your experience instead. The building is clean and safe. The on site manager is hard working and professional. The area is fantastic, so why stay in your room? Little Tokyo is near downtown and the Arts District. There's so much to explore and great food to eat. The only thing that you'll despise is the parking in such a hot area. Even still, I liked it so much and was so weary of the apartment search, that I went ahead and booked a 6 month lease.
In terms of the look and feel, the apartment was exactly as advertised. It seemed bigger in real life than in the photos. High ceilings, comfortable furniture, powerful air conditioner. Clean and pleasant.
There is a bar whose music is audible in the apartment, especially the bass. The music seems to play late (past 1am) on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. The host provides a white-noise machine to drown the sounds, as well as earplugs. The music didn't bother us much at all, but worth being aware of.
I love staying at this place. It is very minimal but has everything one needs for a stay in LA. It is conveniently located between Little Tokyo and the Art District. Very close to the metrolink . I've stayed there several time when I have come to LA and will stay there again in the future.
Location was great, accommodations were bare bones but a good value for what I paid.
That was my second stay at the Sogo Residence in Little Tokyo and it was just as good as the first one 3,5 years ago.
It's a nice area with easy access to public transportation. Alex is very friendly and takes care of the place daily. You can't really ask for more for the price you're paying.
There is no reason why I wouldn't stay there for a third time when I come back to Los Angeles.
Jefferson and his wife were great - they were very communicative, which was a huge help, and I'd happily host them again in the future.
Jay and his wife were very quiet, respectful and clean. Highly recommended.
