I've lived here in Providence for about 18 years. Love the city and my neighborhood - come visit!
Terrific space - extremely clean and comfortable. Nice work area if you are traveling for business. Quiet and private. Very central location with easy access to the downtown and surrounding area via Uber, cab or public transportation if you don't want to rent a car. Glenn (email hidden) and is able to provide recommendations for things to do and places to eat in the area. I enjoyed my short stay there.
Glenn provided my girlfriend and I the perfect place to relax and explore Providence. The room, sitting room, and bathroom were all in pristine condition.
The location is great to walk to downtown from (20 min) day or night. The local area has great coffee/dinner/ food options as well.
It's a gorgeous room - actually three rooms: a bedroom, study and bathroom, all beautifully appointed. The bed was as comfortable as they come. There were multiple excellent places to get a nosh in the neighbourhood, from a true-blue dining car to the finest in bistro dining. It was far enough away from downtown to be able to leave work behind in a quiet area, but close enough to easily walk back to work there in the morning (after a stop at the bakery along the way to get an almond croissant and espresso - both so good I repeated this ritual five days in a row). Glenn was very accommodating, and we were able to sort out all comings and goings without any fuss or muss. Altogether, a great stay.
Wow! Beautiful, amazing, peaceful, clean, peaceful, historic, quiet, fast wifi, ample hot water, parking. Even if you don't believe in feng shui you will agree that this space is zen. Loved everything, especially the desk.
The rooms were lovely: a bedroom and a "study". The bed was comfortable, and the long desk great for my computer and papers, and also for eating private meals. There is a nice view of the park across the street from the bedroom windows, and of the back yard from the study windows. Glenn was very friendly and made me feel welcome, which was important since I was there for a month. Glenn left plenty of room for my food in the refrigerator, which was great since I ate quite a few meals there. There are some very nice restaurants near there. I especially enjoyed the Federal Hill Italian neighborhood.
An impeccable, beautifully appointed room and bed, immaculate bathroom, office space, parking, lots of space and - most of all - incredible hosts surpass most hotels. Every time I visit the area my experience with Glenn and Virginia has been outstanding.
Glenn and Virginia were the perfect hosts. Despite my out of the ordinary itinerary they were understanding and accommodating to all my needs. They have a beautiful home and couldn't be nicer people. The room was very spacious, immaculately clean, and tastefully decorated. I would HIGHLY recommend staying here if you're going to be in the Providence area.
Our stay at Glenn's place was great! The house is beautiful, and the room is spacious and cozy. We enjoyed privacy and great coffee in the mornings. The house is a short walk from some wonderful restaurants, some of which were recommended by Glenn. We'd definitely stay here again!
The muted colors, art on the walls and window views of Glenn and Virginia’s restoration made us feel at home, only better due to the esthetics. Both the park view to the front and the back view to the garden gave the place a rustic feel even through it was so close to the city. There was plenty of privacy as well as great access for questions. Glenn and Virginia were gracious and accommodating. The simplicity of the host\guest setup promoted an easy common sense feel to settling in and being comfortable, also for getting out and doing stuff. There was plenty of good reading material on the shelves of the suite, and I used a trail book to pick out a close-by excursion to Olney Pond. Glenn recommended Loie Fuller's, a nearby restaurant that surprised us with its chic décor and farm goodness. I enjoyed the pets, Gretta and Mr. Big. They were alert and greeted us as we came and went. There was good coffee in the mornings. I hope I have an opportunity to go back soon.
Cleaner and better outfitted than most fine hotels. The entire house has been remodeled recently and is beautiful and well appointed. We stayed over a week and were not only very comfortable in our quarters but enjoyed using the table in the yard as well. Glenn and Virginia were the perfect hosts. We have stayed in several places in Providence, including the expensive hotels, but this was the best.
Virginia and her mom could not have been more perfect as my first Airbnb guests. They left my place spotless - couldn't tell whether they used the facilities. Virginia left me a lovely note expressing her appreciation of my accommodations. I am sorry I was not able to meet her face-to-face, as I was traveling, but I felt a sense of connection and would certainly welcome her again as a guest whenever she needs a place to stay.
