I stayed at Irin's and Sarah's apartment for a week of vacation and visiting friends in Brooklyn. Perfect location in Park Slope and a really lovely apartment - quiet, clean and so nicely decorated. I really felt at home there. Irin was a very good host, organizing where to pick up my keys, always helpful with answering my questions prior and during my stay, and providing me with great restaurant reccomendations. Thanks so much! I can highly recommend staying at their place.
Irin and Sarah's apartment was a perfect place for my mom to stay while she visited me in Park Slope. It was quiet, clean and the en-suite bathroom was a great perk. I would definitely suggest other stay here if they're in the neighborhood. It's SO much nicer than staying in a hotel!
Park Slope is a great neighborhood to stay at, and Irin and Sarah's apartment is a great choice with its great location: Amazing cafes, restaurants, subway lines. I would gladly book this room again, Irin was great at keeping in touch in me to answer any questions prior, during, and after my stay. She also had amazing local restaurant recommendations. I stayed 3 weeks in this room, I was very happy. Anya, Rachel and Irin were very kind and generous. I enjoyed to meet them. The apartment is great, near to many bars and interesting places like the 5th avenue and Prospect park. The Atlantic avenue metro station is two blocks from the apartment, this station has many connections to other lines. it´s a nice neighborhood and good point to visit Brooklyn and Manhattan. I recommend this place.
I stayed with Anya & her and Irin's new flatmate Rachel for 3 nights during New Years 2010. My experience was nothing short of amazing. The apartment was very cozy & Anya and Rachel were wonderful people. Anya recommended restaurants and bars in the area and left books out for other attractions. Rachel and I chatted a little as well. Much of my time was spent in Manhattan, so the nearby subway stop was a huge plus. In short, if you're looking to experience Brooklyn, have easy subway access to the other boroughs, want a safe and quiet place to stay, then this is the place for you.
I stayed with Irin and Anya for a week in Brooklyn... Their place is very cute, nicely decorated, with interesting art, and very comfortable.. They are very considerate, and low-key, which I found really compatible with my style..
They were eager to help me find local spots to eat, drink and visit.. too bad it was a strictly work trip for me, so I had very little free time. Plus it was December, so strolling around was not really advised...
The subway access to Manhattan was very easy, 2 blocks to the N train which takes you to Manhattan in ONE stop. When I came back to Brooklyn from work, there are two bars literally around the corner from their house that you can stop at and have a nightcap.. Both are cool, mellow places with cheap drinks.
All in all, I give it five stars! The only minor thing was that the shower was not super hot... but this was very minor, and is clearly only an issue in the dead of winter. I think this is part of the "New York flavor"... Go stay with them if you can! Boerum Heights rocks!
I've known Irin and Anya for several years. I lived with Irin during college and have spent a lot of time with the two of them at their Brooklyn apartment. They are considerate roommates and super-knowledgeable about the area. They always know what's going on in the city -- new restaurants, great shows, cool neighborhoods. This is a beautiful area of the city with lots to do -- I HIGHLY recommend anyone take the opportunity to stay in this apartment. Delicious, well-reviewed restaurants nearby, as well as great beer and wine bars and cute boutiques for shopping.
