Great quiet cottage. Very comfy beds. Nice sunny deck with my morning coffee and my dog. Highly recommend. Oh also great shower!
This place is awesome! I'll try to describe why, but first I must share my favorite thing here: three tiny puppet portraits. I love those little guys!
Two friends and I stayed here for a few days and it was so nice I was ready to move in. :) Describing it won't really do it justice, and I think that's because of the overall feeling here. It's very cozy - basically feels like home.
Check in was very smooth and upon arrival there was a binder with all necessary information. The living room is super comfortable for just hanging out, and we especially appreciated using the fireplace at night! There's also a front and back porch which are both really nice. The back porch looks out over the large, lush backyard. It felt like everywhere you look is either wood or green. Very peaceful.
There are many nice things here - plenty of natural light, full kitchen, extra large shower with skylight overhead, laundry just outside, and parking right next to the cabin. Another reviewer mentioned difficulty backing down the driveway, but I was able to just turn my car around (I have a mid-sized car). The weather was cold during our visit but the main heater along with extra quilts and blankets on hand were sufficient so I didn't need to use the space heater in my room.
Although the cabin is quiet and tucked away, it is very close to Burnet Road and North Loop so nearby there's plenty of restaurants, coffee shops, and such. It's a quick drive over to Hyde Park and to downtown only about 15 minutes (traffic willing).
My friend met Daniel for a few minutes to get help with a minor issue we had that was fixed immediately. My communication with Daniel was solely through text messages to which he responded in a timely manner. I did meet Selina briefly and thought she seemed nice.
Overall fantastic stay and I hope I'm able to visit again!
Daniel and Selina were friendly and helpful, we had a wonderful stay at their cabin and it is a great location.
Daniel was a great host and responded to emails and calls quickly and with a lot of information. The house was easy to get to and clean and cute upon arrival. Also the heaters were a great touch and kept us toasty all night!
The only issue we had is that the mattress on the pull out couch was not usable as it was very old and you could feel the springs, so no one was able to sleep on it.
It is a great cabin for 4 people to sleep in and very cute and rustic.
The cabin was great! My family really enjoyed the fireplace and the backyard. It's great the cabin is centrally located as we spent time in North and South Austin during our trip. It was stocked nicely, very clean, and quiet. Will continue to recommend to my friends.
We stayed at Daniel's cabin for a few days and were impressed with the place. It's a separate building in a quiet neighborhood in northern part of Austin. Even if it appears to be further away from the downtown in (website hidden) Maps, we were able to fetch UberX in a few minutes and get to the famous 6th street in around 15 minutes!
The cabin itself is well furnished and has a cool bathroom skylight as well as a nice patio overlooking a big backyard.
It was also helpful that Daniel allowed us to arrive earlier than the actual check-in time. Thanks!
I hope I will visit Austin again - I will definitely check if the cabin is available!
He had a very pleasant stay at the 'Cabin'. Daniel and his wife were helpful but gave us our space so that it felt very much like we were in a private space. The 'Cabin' was clean, the beds were comfortable and there was plenty of kitchen equipment for cooking if you need it. The 'Cabin' itself was comfortably furnished and lent itself to just 'hanging out' when we wanted to do that.
We have stayed in many Airbnb locations in Austin over the years and this is definitely one that we will return to again. A very comfortable and easy stay.
I didn't get to meet Daniel since he was away when I stayed at his lovely cabin. But, both before I arrived and while I was there he was responsive immediately by txt or email when I had questions and was very informative and pleasant.
The cabin is at the back of a house with a yard for kids or dogs and is surrounded by a lush, green oasis(well they did have lots of rain right before I arrived so I can't promise that it is always green!) It was very conveniently located for us.
Lovely porch and deck to use. Very comfortable beds in both rooms...we didn't use the pull out sofa but as a sofa it was great.
New bathroom with sky light over shower which was a nice touch.
Kitchen with major appliances and coffee maker and microwave with some limited pots and pans.
The only thing to mention is that if you are a light sleeper and it is hot you might want to know that the air conditioner in the master bedroom is very loud.
We would love to go back to this house, it was a great accommodation when 2 bedrooms were needed. I do wish I could have brought my dog!
Excellent excellent trip! Good suggestions to eat, take bus and suggestions from the host! It was such a cute and fun place to stay for a short vacation! If we come to ACL again, we will be looking to stay here! Highly suggest to anyone coming to Austin!
This was such a cute cabin !!! We went for Austin city limits festival, and we loved staying here. The place was clean and had everything we needed. I loved it. Will stay here anytime !!
