Hello airbnb friends, here's a little bit about me:
I'm mostly from Michigan but have lived in sunny LA for 14 years. I'm left-handed. I am a singer / songwriter / musician (I have two projects on i tunes / i.e. Jamie Drake and Nobel ;). I sang on Moby's forthcoming album recently and have a handful of cuts on some other artists' records (Didi Benami and Humming House). But enough about me - onto my humble abode..!
So since I'm an artist, I live simply. I have a sweet, little studio apartment in one of the hippest neighborhoods in town. It's perfect for one visitor - or for a couple looking for adventure in town. My place is clean, cozy and has all the essentials. The bed is comfy, there's a guitar if you play it (carefully), a full working kitchen including a microwave and a french press for freshly brewed coffee. I recently broke down and got a television (I hadn't had one in 6 years!), so there's Apple TV available (specifically Netflix) Wifi, a ceiling fan - as well as a small fan if your prefer consistent noise if you are a light sleeper - and even some work out items if you like to do yoga, stretching or crunches.
I love the neighborhood I live in. It's taken me years of moving to different parts of the city to find the right place, and I've finally found it. Silver Lake was voted THE hippest neighborhood in the US recently by Forbes. Now, if that means anything to you, you'll LOVE the stay here! I live walking distance to Sunset Junction where you can sit at Intelligencia and have some of THE best coffee, or visit the cheese store for wine and cheese next door. Cafe Stella is also near by - an adorable (and somewhat over-priced) French restaurant. If you want to see any famous people, a friend of mine works here and tends to see them quite frequently. ;) Across the street from where I live, you'll find one of my favorite taco places, Diablo. They have an awesome happy hour and some of the most creative taco creations (there's also a taco stand next to that with THE best fish tacos I've ever had). On my block there are the cutest gift shops - Hemingway and Pickett - as well as Sumi's - for those of you looking for really unique jewelry or, interesting lamps, leather bags or mouse pads. Not only this, but every Saturday and Tuesday night, the Silverlake Farmers Market resides just a block away! Buy fresh, organic veggies and bring them back to make dinner, buy some sage to burn if you like that (just burn it when you get home ;), buy old records or books and then go for a walk in the neighborhood and find the little league baseball field with a track around it for running. I also love going to see movies with my boyfriend and the Vista Vintage Theater is just a couple minutes drive away!
I keep busy writing and playing music, working, socializing and finding adventures. If you are anything like me, you'll love staying in my little sancuary in Silverlake, because it provides just the right amount of "home" before going back out and looking for fun things to do or work on!
