I like being on a warm beach in the wintertime
Great location, really cute street. Host was very friendly and rides a longboard so he is ok in my book. Only downside is that there is no longer a stove. There was one in the picture however the description says "hotplate" which was provided. David was responsive in clearing up this discrepancy before we arrived and he informed us that the stove will be back for 2014. I recommend this as a great place to crash for a long weekend. I would consider coming back this summer so I can get a chance to use the sweet outdoor shower.
Just what we were hoping for. Quiet, peaceful and off the beaten path but very close to ponds, the ocean and Wellfleet.
David is a pretty chill guy. Place was nice and clean when we got in and it's a very quiet spot to visit. Close to P town and closer to the beach and beachcomber! My girl friend and I loved it. Thank you so much!
The flat was clean but located a little bit afield. To the beach as well as to town center you had to go by car. A good restaurant (Moby Dick) is in walking distance. The flat has a bathroom as well as a bedroom. In the main room is a little sofa and a little fridge. To provide a boiling plate would be a big improvement. It would also be nice to have a table with chairs inside, in case the weather rainy or cold. David lives next door, we didn't notice him very much.
We had a lovely, tranquil time in the loft. Excellent proximity to beaches, ponds, and town center, and off the main road, so it is very quiet. The loft is a veritable tree house, very comfortable bed, clean, good shower, nice deck.
Very minimal kitchen tools, but we were educated by previous reviews, and came prepared with kettle and french press, although there is a coffee maker provided. We have had many other trips to the Cape, so also came prepared with hand soap and other sundry items (salt, pepper, matches). We are hearty cyclists, so didn't mind walking the stairs, but this would be a consideration for some.
All in all, it was a great accommodation, and David was a great host. Thanks!
Great location, quiet, breezy and private. Good parking, price, great bed & sweet deck outside. Met David & he gave us some good tips. We knew what was lacking (kitchen wise) from other reviews, so we had everything we needed. He is trying to respond to comments, we had soap, extra towels & a corkscrew. Thanks, David. We would stay here again.
We had a wonderful week in Wellfleet and David's place fit our needs perfectly. The place was cozy, clean, quiet, and just the right size for two people- not to mention a very comfy bed! It was only about 3 miles away from great beaches like Cahoon Hollow and White Crest, and walking/biking distance to downtown. While there is a kitchen nook, we used a cooler for the week to store snacks/drinks but it works well if you are okay with not cooking and prefer checking out the local restaurants (there are plenty of options). David was very accommodating and was there whenever we needed something. Would definitely stay there again!
Good things: a quiet & private location, affordable, comfy bed, hot shower w/ good pressure, just a bikeride or walk to/from Gull Pond, Cahoon Hollow Beach, and charming Wellfleet.
Things that could be improved (a woman's perspective mostly): 2 bath towels for 5 day reservation is not adequate, no soap in bathroom (sink or shower), no bathroom wastebasket, green soap residue in tub, dirty bath rug & mirror, dim lighting, shelves with men's grooming supplies, etc. No bedside lighting (overhead only) to read while in bed. Now, NONE of these things were so bad that I couldn't live with it, however, considering the additional "cleaning" fee tacked to my total, I felt a bit taken advantage of. It left me with a general feeling that the place had not been cleaned between tenants and that is NO deal in my mind. Yikes. We had to purchase bath soap and toilet paper, plastic bowls & spoons (for cereal), ice for the cooler for milk & drinks (no fridge or stove). Be sure you bring a cooler, towels, soap, etc. Not easy for anyone who isn't driving to their vacation destination. We saw David only when we arrived which was fine, except we might have been able to request more towels if we had seen him. Maps or directions to Gull Pond & Cahoon Hollow Beaches would have been nice and information on beach passes (we bought a 3-day $45 beach pass in Wellfleet, otherwise, it's $15/day) but we had to find this on our own. Our host is an "easy going" kind of guy and when my husband asked some questions about the area, our host answered "You'll figure it out". Well we DID figure it out, but it might have saved us some time & money to be given some basics on the area with brochures or maps left for us to look at. Again it's a woman's perspective. All in all, it was a wonderful vacation and I chalk it up to another worthwhile adventure.
Our stay in Wellfleet loft was a very tranquil and beautiful experience!
The loft is hidden away with absolutely beautiful surroundings. The loft is above the main house and has a great deal of privacy. Exactly what we wanted! David, our host welcomed us, and basically left us to it, he was very pleasant and made us feel welcome.
The loft is very airy and big with lots of space, bed comfy and generally clean. The loft itself is basic, as we came from Europe it was impossible for us to bring the basics for cooking etc, we used our imagination and got by!
Overall a wonderfully calm and rural cape cod experience and we would repeat!
David's place was perfect for our long weekend. Neither my husband or I are big cooks, especially when away, so no kitchen was not a problem. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was clean and provided what was expected. We trailered our motorcycle down and there was plenty of parking space for SUV and trailer. I would definitely rent from David again!
Muy buen huésped. Tranquilo, tranquilo, organizado y muy buena onda. Muy bien su estadía en nuestra casa.
David and Roseanne have stayed at my place several times and are terrific guests. They are easy to communicate with, they take good care of my place, and they love it, which means a lot to me. They are always welcome.
David and Roseanne were really great guests. They took good care of my place and left it neat and clean, with two lovely bouquets of wildflowers. You guys -- your understanding of the spirit of my place and your beautiful notes took MY breath away! Come back sometime!
