Raul was nice and very kind person. He welcomed us very much. The room was large and nice. Also good view from the balcony. But, our room, the drain of the shower room was cloged.. And water spilled all over the floor and almost went to the kitchen. Nobody was there... We couldn't take shower well. I think the problem was only our room. I hope they can fix it as soon as possible.
A completely acceptable small apartment, spotlessly clean, with very good security (two locking metal doors.). I definitely felt like my stuff was safe here, and there is a lot of space (like if you have bikes, or a herd of goats, or you wanted to open a pirate radio station.) If you're looking for a very secure bunker type apartment that's very central this is perfect for you.
What's missing? The hot water runs out incredibly fast, to the point where you may not have time to rinse the soap off. And, I don't even have any hair to wash! Two people, with hair to wash, would be completely out of luck. There is not much furniture in the place at all, just a bed, two chairs, and a small table. There are no decorations of any kind, I mean nothing. The place is so empty and bear it creates an echo. The breakfast included could easily be better, although it was just fine. I found it so uninteresting, that after a couple of days I stop bothering with the free breakfast and would go out instead.
So, this is a very mixed review, but could be really good for certain people with certain needs.
Séjour sympathique à l'hôtel d'el Catrin, toutefois la douche dans une des chambre n'était pas très chaude. Sinon il est très bien situé, à 5 minutes du centre ville et à l'abri du bruit et de la foule.
Central, clean, roof-top terras. Good for the price you pay.
I had a great experience, but for the dogs next door who are in deplorable conditions and constantly bark all night.
The place was a little hard to find with Raul's instructions, but thankfully we had (website hidden) maps. Elouisa and the hired help made us feel very welcome. A nice little house with great views from the roof. Close to town, about a 5 minute walk downhill...but that means uphill on the way back. But it's worth it. And what a great town Guanojuato is. My only issue is that breakfast is from 9:30, which is a Mexican thing, but I'm not used to that so it's not really a big deal. Plenty of places in town open earlier. And as for comments about the noise - that's Mexico! We actually found it relatively quiet at night. I have no hesitation in recommending El Catrin
Très bon rapport qualité-prix. Très bonne situation. Petit problème de WC. Raul et personnel très sympas et aidants, vaut vraiment la peine !!! Belle vue de la ville.
A très bientôt !
The B&B was clean and had a great view of town. It was up a steep alley just a few minutes walk from the action. Breakfast was coffee, fruit, and bread. It was served around 9:30am but if you are an early riser there is a lady who sells wonderful bread and cakes in a plaza a few minutes walk down the hill. I was traveling with my wife, two year old daughter, and my mom. He gave my family a self contained room and my mom got her own room as well. Guanajuato was awesome and I would gladly stay at El Catrin again.
The host was responsive during the booking process. However, the number provided in the confirmation email did not work when we arrived and we had a hard time finding the place. The pictures we saw on the Airbnb website were not at all representative of our actual room. We ended up only staying 2 of 3 nights as between the loud bells, dogs and concerns of rain (the hallway in our room was "open air") we did not sleep well at all. No comment on breakfast as apparently we missed it on the first morning (we checked around 9am and saw no breakfast out or staff) and we already had breakfast plans elsewhere the second morning.
