Thank you so much for staying with me and for the review.
I'm sorry you were cold. However, you specifically told me that the room was warm. If that changed, you should have let me know. It would have been an easy fix but I can't fix it if I don't know about it. I gave you all my personal contact info to contact me day or night. Or you could have left me a note since I am just in the next room.
I'm sorry you didn't feel safe. However, this is a safe neighborhood, with families, young professionals, artists and students. There are cameras on the corners of every building, the streets are well-lit, there are two delis open 24 hours with bright lights on. You were coming home late at night in the middle of winter so it makes sense that the street is quiet- it's a residential neighborhood. I'm sorry that your perception was that it was unsafe. This is Harlem, NY, a neighborhood full of diversity with every race, color and religion. Since you reported no incident that made you feel unsafe I can only say that the feeling you reported says more about you and your experience with, and tolerance of, diversity than it says about the neighborhood itself and I am somewhat disappointed and offended by this.
Harlem is not for everyone, I suppose, but in an ideal world, it would be. I will continue to welcome all guests who embrace diversity the way I and residents of this community do. This is NYC. Thank you again for choosing to stay with me. I wish you all the best.
