I live in Ottawa. Retired from the Department oForeign Affairs and Industry Trade Canada. I have lived in eight different countries around the world, Africa, Asia, Europe, South America, and the United States.
Travel has been a life long passion and is what got me into the Foreign Serivice, and I enjoyed all my postings in Belgrade, Lagos, Nigeria, Tokyo, Japan, Washington, D.C., NATO, Brussels, Belgium, OECD, Paris, France, New Delhi, India, Santiago, Chile.
I am interested in the arts and live in Paris for half each year, which Is my second home. I still enjoy travelling and am pleased to have become a member of AirBnB. So far I have visited with AirBnB in Cambridge, Boston, and NYC. The latter, with all its museums and art galleries is a natural magnet for me..
I have a love of classical music and am presently enjoying a classical music festival in Ottawa (80 concerts) ((website hidden)).; and July 27 the annual Chamber Music Festival will begin ((website hidden)).
I am a constant reader and appreciate the library here. We also have a vibrant Arts Centra and the National Gallery of Ottawa is housed in a glass structure to rival any architectural design. It sounds like I am promoting my home town.
In Paris, I live on Canal Saint Martin which I love. I am a Pisces which may account for the fact that in Ottawa I live a half block from the Rideau Canal, now a world heritage site, another canal and in winter the longest skating rink in the world.
I appreciate what it means to be a host and to be a good guest. At present I do not offer my homes on AirBnB but I would like to think that I would treat a host's home with the respect that I give my own.
