What a wonderful place!
Each room has such a unique character and every step through the house, we found architectural details and moments for pause. The portal to the Studio Space is especially special!
Cooking in that kitchen was also an experience that we will remember.
Until the next visit...
If I could sum up our week at THE RUBBER HOUSE in one word it would be… MAGICAL! The perfect place to spend New Years Eve!
Dan was an amazing host and responded to enquiries super fast.
Only negative would be the main fridge is still broken and the tiny bar fridge was a bit of a hassle, but we managed. The Nespresso coffee maker was a added bonus!
Would recommend to any architectural guru's!
Thanks Dan for a fab week!
So glad we booked this house for our holiday weekend. It is truly a unique and special place, and our hosts left detailed yet clear instructions. I only wish that the full size refrigerator had been working...my companion and I came with a lot of food and had a hard time fitting it all in the backup mini-fridge. However, the overall experience made up for the minor inconvenience. We would certainly stay again with thanks to our hosts.
What a complete treat!
This house is really special. It's such a unique piece of architecture. If you enjoy having a quiet place to do yoga or stretch or (email hidden) has it's own dance studio. Lovely morning sunlight in the backyard for a quiet coffee. Great WiFi. Lovely soaking tub and killer shower that opens up onto a patio. Great area - very close to New Paltz & lots of good restaurants. Dan was very helpful and responded quickly to any questions we had. Yes, their fridge is broken so just keep your perishables to a minimum and it just gives you more of an excuse to drive into town/farmer's market and get fresh stuff. Would love to go back!
Wow! This is by far one of the nicest houses Iv'e ever rented. It is the perfect combination between modern design and country experience. The interior feels like a fancy apartment in Tribeca while the view is breathtaking and nothing but pure nature. Its one in a life time experience will def recommend this place!
Dan is a very thoughtful host. The house is an interesting piece of architecture, which is nicely sited for wonderful views of the property. The house is very comfortable, with modern bathrooms, fire places, and heating. If you are looking for a quiet week in a beautiful area, you will enjoy this property.
Highly recommended for your visit to the Hudson Valley! We had a spectacular winter holiday in the Rubber House and stayed for several weeks in the gorgeous space. It is perfect for a couple wanting a quiet retreat but it would also be very lovely house to share with friends or family members.
The property is beautiful - peaceful and quiet but within a 10 minute drive to other amenities (such as the grocery store and restaurants.) We especially loved spending time in front of the fire, and cooking in the well-stocked kitchen. Other highlights: working out in the attached gym/studio, waking up in the morning light in the spacious master bedroom, and wandering through the large property. It is spectacularly clean with nice linens and comfortable beds. It is such a treat to spend time in a well-designed and interesting space.
Dan and Adele are extremely helpful and very easy to reach with any questions. There is also a local caretaker who is on hand for emergencies. They are lovely hosts and you are in good hands.
The main fridge isn't working at the moment, and there is a smallish under-counter fridge for your perishables. We didn't have too much of a problem as the garage was cool enough to store other cold items, but it's something to keep in mind for the warmer months.
We've already recommended this house to other friends for their holiday visits, and would love to return one day. It is a convenient location for other trips within the Hudson Valley and is a quiet respite from city life. Get in touch with Dan and enjoy your trip! :-)
The Rubber House provided a welcome break from the city over Thanksgiving, the huge oven was perfect for roasting a turkey in and the cozy lounge was wonderful for playing board games by the fireplace. Dan and Adele provided all the information we required, were flexible and got back to us quickly with answers to any questions. The house was perfect for four people and I would recommend it to others wanting to experience some unique architecture while relaxing and enjoying nature. One small thing to mention is that the main fridge didn't work which was a bit tricky over Thanksgiving with lots of food but the smaller bar fridge got us by. Overall, a really good experience.
Great guest no problems whatsoever.
Dan and his colleague Ron were friendly, self reliant, and tidy guests. Easy to host and pleasant, we'd have them back again any time!
Totally cool, welcome back anytime.
It was great to have Dan as a guest, he was quick to communicate and left the apartment very clean, everything in its place. No complaints at all, welcome back anytime.
Dan was a great guest and very respectful of the house!
