I am a composer and professor of composition and also teach in the area of East Asian culture and music. I am originally a New England native, I taught at Williams College and currently teach at the University of Alberta in Canada. I love to travel and explore and over the last 15 years have enjoyed living and studying in different parts of the world. These days, I often travel related to performances, research or conferences. The music I write and perform reflects by background and training: from Jazz and Improvisation, to experimental and modern classical music. I also studied and perform on the Chinese instrument guqin, both in traditional and modern improvisation contexts. I'm an easy-going person and am always interested in meeting new people and exploring new things. If you'd like to have a listen to my music, please visit my (email hidden).
