Hey, I'm Marie!
Jacksonville, Florida, United States · Member since March 2013

I'm currently in between two amazing life experiences. The previous being my two years of grassroots development work in West Africa. The future experience is to be determined, but I'm confident it will be pretty darn fabulous. Until then, I'm traveling around, visiting loved ones, meeting new people, exploring foreign lands and enjoying every moment!

To answer airbnb's questions:
Five things I can't live without (besides the universal three) would be those whom I love, music, my journal, enlightening conversations and laughter. No one is here to stop me from adding a sixth so I must add cooking!

I've never visited a place in which I didn't find beauty so I'd have to say my favorite would be the idea of the lands I've yet to visit. My all-time favorite movie is Roxanne. I can quote almost the entire cheesy flick. I'm a self-aware dork. Music... I love something from every genre, although hip hop is probably my favorite. Or the Doors. Or Blind Melon. Britney Spears (not the least bit ashamed!) Or Nina Simone. Rolling Stones? Matt Corby? I don't know, you pick. Food... I'm such a foodie. As long as it doesn't involve horseradish, lets cook it up.

What it's like to have me a guest (I don't have a place in which to be a host yet): I'm super considerate of others so I believe in leaving a place nicer than I found it. I enjoy helping out in whatever way I can. My style of traveling is pretty free. I only make reservations when traveling with people who prefer to have them. I'd prefer to wing it. You never know where you could end up. I'm a sponge, so I ask a lot of questions.

My life motto is long and should be (website hidden)d. Its 'Desiderata' by Max Ehrmann. I try to live my life by all of its content. Enjoy!
