The place was very cozy and warm, looks just like the pictures. There was an odd musky smell upon us entering but we just aired the place out for a bit and it was fine. The kitchen had everything we needed and we really appreciated the fireplace. We didn't use the bed room and just slept on the pull out bed which was very comfy and easy to put away. Probably won't stay again because of the pet policy but overall our stay was pleasant.
The home was very much as expected. John was very responsive and accommodating. Location was great, and space was comfortable for the price. We stayed for almost a week so it was very convenient having certain amenities that hotels don't normally offer. I would recommend stopping for a quick shop before your stay. Also Uber services the area which is nice. Beware that the space really only accommodates three adults comfortably, great for a couple and two small children.
Me and my boyfriend had a nice stay at the cabin this past weekend. The location of the place was nice and in the trees as described. We did have a few issues with our stay though, as we arrived we found the last renters had left all their garbage in the trashcans and the bottles and cans on the floor in the kitchen. This was not a good way to start our vacation off. Also, it seemed as though someone had just taken a shower because it was still wet in the bathroom and there was a razor and shower supplies laying out. It was a bit discomforting seeing things laying out like this upon arrival; it was as if someone was going to come back to the cabin. There was also terrible lighting in the cabin and it was very dark even with all the lights on. Two of the lamps that would have added light did not even have light bulbs in them! The tenant staying in the front house at the time has two small dogs that would bark nonstop right outside our bedroom window as well and this made it difficult to get any sleep. Overall the stay was okay, but I would not go back again.
John was very nice about answering any questions we had. The cabin was exactly like the photos look like and the place was very clean upon arrival. My husband and I had a great time in Big Bear and we will re visit soon, hopefully book the same cabin as well. The cabin is very cold but all you need to do is grab some firewood and get the fireplace going and it keeps you warm through the night. My husband and I slept in the bedroom the first night but it too cold in there so we decided to use the sofa bed because we wanted to feel the warmth from the fireplace all night long and it was just as nice. Easy to sleep on and plenty of room, it was nice. Will definitely be back next year!!!
Boyfriend and I went for a quick, weekday trip to go skiing and snowboarding. Nice, quiet neighborhood not too far from all the ski resorts. About a 12 minute drive to bear mountain.
The apartment was small and cozy. No shoes inside the house, which was a little uncomfortable to leave our boots in the freezing, small doorway and then put them on cold. Completely understandable though since the place was all carpet.
Don't forget to bring your own towels and linens!!
The small kitchen was well stocked and had a coffee maker (thank goodness)
The TV and accompanying equipment are outdated and the setup is really jumbled, so hopefully you have a savvy person with you if you plan on watching anything.
There were a few weird pictures in the place that were... well, weird!
All in all, the place was ok, but we probably wouldn't stay again.
The location is perfect. Condo is very nice. I would stay there again if we are ever back in the area. We had just a few problems with the dishwasher, the air conditioner and the garbage. John responded very quickly and answered all questions. Very easy to find, key code worked perfect. Pool and gym were both nice. Great place for the price!
My wife and I had a great time in Big Bear! The cabin was clean and everything was as described in the listing. We loved having the fireplace, and the second story deck was very spacious. The neighborhood itself was quiet, with little traffic driving by. We used the kitchen multiple times and found everything we needed. The cabins location makes it feel secluded, without being too far from downtown. One thing to note is that the TV does not have an HDMI port for a blue ray player. Just make sure you bring DVD's! We would definitely consider staying here in the future!
Our experience in this cabin was awesome. We found everything to be true to the listing. The neighborhood was perfect for us, close to people we wanted to see and Snow Summit. We couldn't find some of the cleaning products referenced (toilet bowl cleaner, lysol) but made due with what we brought.
All and all a great place to stay and we would love to come back!
Superb place to stay! Two of us had an amazing time. The bed is extremely comfortable (as are the couch and lazy boy). Having the fireplace was a nice touch. Overall, it was the perfect cabin for our weekend getaway. Hope to return!
The experience was great and relaxing. All of our questions were answered quickly. We were very surprised with how fully stocked the place was. Would most definitely go back and rent this place.
