Endroit parfait pour se relaxer et passer du bon temps ! Juste à côté d'un bar et à 1 minute de la plage
Pura vida !
Great location, clean hostel, really nice yoga space. The owner is on site often and is easy to communicate with. There is always a mgr available if needed! definitely a good experience especially the yoga.
Let me preface this by saying I've never been much of the earthy type...with that being said OM was an AMAZING place to ease into that laid back, backpacker vibe. Yes there are mosquito nets over the bed and yes the shower is outside (surrounded by metal for privacy of course) and yes there is a bar next door but that truly adds to the experience. If you're looking for a place to get a little closer to nature and step out of your resort/hotel comfort zone this is a great place to do it! The facilities were clean and while I felt like I was sleeping in the jungle I never felt overexposed and there were actually ALOT fewer bugs than I expected. Another added bonus is that since alot of the other people staying there were surfers, folks were in bed pretty early and it was generally quiet by 10pm or earlier. The cafe downstairs had some of the best chocolate, and the walk to town (Puerto Viejo) was pretty quick and painless with plenty of shops, restaurants, and friendly people. The beach is steps away and was surprisingly peaceful..no loud obnoxious people or music or naked folks but a great place to sun, swim or surf. As advertised this is not a resort or hotel so you shouldn't expect those types of accommodations or amenities but it is a great place and made my first few days as a first time solo traveler really comfortable and enjoyable. OM was without a doubt one of the main reasons I didn't wanna leave Puerto Viejo.
I had a very nice stay in the OM hostel. The people were very nice and helpful and it's nice to hang out in the little restaurant in the evenings and have a snack or a coffee in the afternoon. The yoga classes were great, with a nice view and with locals joining. The downside was a bit that it's directly at the sea, but separated by a street and the shower was cold ;)
Love this place!!! The rooms were clean and very comfortable. The yoga space is amazing! It overlooks the beach and the jungle - so neat! If you're thinking about a surfing lesson, Alex is an awesome instructor and a very kind guy. There's good energy here and Kristin makes everyone feel welcome.
The bathroom is clean and it provided its purpose. The downstairs common area is very neat, you meet different people who pass through their wonderful for coffee or chocolate tour.
The kitchen has all the necessary pots and pans for travelers who are on a budget. Drinking is provided for guest, so bring your refillable bottled water.
The only issue I see problematic for other travelers would be the establishment/bar next door. On Tuesday nights they have "club" night. The music is overly loud and obnoxious so for travelers staying there bring ear plugs. It's a shame the establishment next door can't be courteous and turn down the music.
Other than that, we would definitely come back to OM anytime of day! We miss you guys!
The hosts were very helpful and welcoming. Our room was very small and there was hardly any space to move. The location is very convenient. The Yoga class with Ro was amazing. The kitchen and bathroom could have been better kept. Great place to have breakfast on the premises.
