Lovely room with a grand view. Traffic is noisey in the room, but you do become used to that. If you use The Bus, bus stops are very convenient to the location. There is a good mall across the street, with plenty of restaurants, as well as a Whole Foods, and another grocery store, Times, within walking distance. A beautiful and uncrowded beach is located within a 20 minute walk.
Randi is a gracious hostess, and makes every effort to accomodate any needs you might have.
I like the space of Randi's home, the view was great to see the ocean and diamond head. The dog Dexter was very sweet and got along with my son (8) very well. The bed was comfortable but the nose from the Freeway was very loud at night, never really got a good night sleep cause the windows did not close. Randi was very tentive and made room for all my grocery shopping i did while there. I felt comfortable leaving my stuff in and out of the house.
The things i felt a little discomfort was leaving the back doors open and unlocked all day long and the bathroom was really gross, the shower curtain and tile in shower were molding and smelled like meldew. I never felt clean after getting out of the shower. My son was uncomfortable about the dirtyness as well.
I'm very much satisfied with Randi's home.
They are very kind and her dog Dexter is also very friendly with me.
The scenery from the room is very nice, you can see Diamond head to All the Kahala area and ocean view and Waialae golf course.
Traffic is also conveniet, you can drive to the highway in a minite.
Kahala mall is next to the condo and you can enjoy shopping and super market is located there.
Nice breeze comes in and you can relax any time.
I want to come back her home this summer again.
Thank you Randi
We spent two days at Randi's place in Honolulu.
The accomodation is close to the Diamond Head and there's a convenient mall just in front of the condo, so there's no better location than this.
You can choose among several fast foods, restaurants and shops in the neighborhood, which is safe.
There's a bus stop as well, although we used a car. You reach Waikiki area in ten minutes by car.
The room has a private bath ensuite, so you get a lot of privacy, and you have a fabulous view from the balcony.
The room faces the freeway, so you can hear noise from the street all day and night; it could be bothering for someone, but we slept anyway. I suggest earplugs for those people who can't stand this.
Randi is welcoming and easy going, didn't see her so much during the day, because of our busy schedule trip and her work, but she was always helpful and nice with us, especially when she helped us finding a no-towing parking spot the first night we arrived.
She also offered us a beer before leaving for the airport.
Her dog, Dexter, is cute and well behaved, which is definitely a bonus.
We had a positive experience!
Randi's place was nice and clean. I enjoyed the spacious room, private bathroom and the beautiful view. Randi was nice when she was around, did not see her that much. Dog was very well behaved, I'm not used to dogs but this one was so kind and quiet I hardly noticed him. Wifi was fast and I had access to purified water in the fridge which was great. Whole food store has great food but is quite expensive, there is a cheaper foodstore at the mall if you look for it. Had some trouble finding the Waialae beach park, got lost the first day - but I found the directions on the internet the next day. It is a beautiful beach, not the best for swimming but good for snorkling I've heard. Also had some trouble figuring out the busses, but no 23 will take you straight to Waikiki. It leaves every 30minutes from the busstop at the mall on the oposite side of the Aloha gas station. It costs 2.50 each way, be sure to bring the exact amount, they do not give you change. All in all I had a good experience :-)
Randi's gift is hospitality with a big heart
Tyvm Randi! Traffic outside will either put
you to sleep or be a bother. I slept well. Aloha
I had a greate time in Hawaii and enjoyed it. The flat is good located with bus connection to all locations in the island. From the room one has a good sea and Diamond Head view.
It is tidy, with a wardrobe a big bed and enough space.
The Highway in front oft the house wasn't disturbing me.
room is very big and clean but it is noise to sleep in the evening. a bit far from Wakiki center area if you don't drive.
Its a nice place. We only thay one short night bevor we leave hawaii. For me i little bit to noisy next the street.
Our experience in Oahu was great minus the unpleasant stay experience with Randi. The room was spacious and bare. The bathroom didn't even appear to have been cleaned prior our arrival as there was mildew in the showers. Randi took it upon herself to acquire “new” guests for the same room we had checked out without as much as asking or verifying if we were even checked out. Which we weren't! Randi’s acquirement of "new" guests just went to show us that the only thing she cares about is subsidizing her rent, instead of her host’s experience. Due to this lack of communication on her part, along with the now “new” guests, we had to board our 8 hour return home flight without the opportunity to freshen up (in a room that we had paid for, mind you!) after a day of beach, water activities, and hiking. Though the location of her place may be recommendable, she as a host, certainly was not. Definitely would not and will not recommend staying here if heading to Oahu!! (Nov.25-26, 2013)
I met Randi in Sept/2012 when she first moved to the Island from Texas at an event at the Trump Hotel. We reconnected a few months later when we realized we were neighbors and have become great friends. Living AND working in Hawaii isn't as easy as it seems --- but she is a perfect example of someone who is able to balance a professional life during the day, enjoy a cocktail/dancing during the evening, and explore the islands beauty during the weekends. She is very active and seems to always go on at least one or two fun excursions/week... whether it be hiking, snorkeling, fishing, etc. She is a great source of information on things to do -- and doesn't hesitate to include others in on her plans when she is doing something fun as well. She is a beautiful person with a great perspective on life -- & she has some good jokes too :)
