As described above I am a left over hippy that never grew up thus I have built this compound of little houses to play and decorate. I am an artist and an animal lover although I only have 2 cats right now because the property while it sits way back is on rural main road. I love to meet new people, travel, and love to have fun.
I love that it is such a wonderful place to bike or kayak since all roads lead to water and breathtaking views of unspoiled country. The wetlands are my favorites with all the fawn and flora they attract. I also like being so close to Shelter Island, only a 10 minute ferry away. Here is a magical place to explore and go to the Nature Preserve which takes up most of the small island. Bring sunflower seeds because the chickadees will eat right out of your hand. It gives you quite a rush to feel the wild in your hands.
When you are a guest here You are treated as family. I love to spoil my guests. the best part of doing this for me is getting to meet such wonderful people. I have seriously never had a guest stay here I truly didn't enjoy or feel grateful to meet.
They suggested putting down 5 things I couldn't live without. So if I had to answer that I would rather say that I find my days are much better when I can begin the day with my time of meditation where I can focus on what I am grateful for in my life and reminding me to stay present in the moment. I love to be greeted by my cats and get cat kisses or what I call their binking their eyes at me. I feel very grounded when I am able to walk on the land and feel the earth beneath my barefeet. I find joy in sharing time with my friends. It's a great day when I make it to the gym and get my cardio going. And I am always renewed when I meet with other friends of Bill W and Dr. Bob.
Favorite books and movies far too many but Marianne Williamson's "Return To Love" jumps out at me. Elie Weisel's, " Open Heart". Right now I'm still savoring the delight of Downton Abbey as seen on DVD. Loved the series Weeds. Loved Lincoln this year and Life of Pi. Love music, food, and Italy was my favorite ever place that I visited. Long to get back there.
Life motto would be right out of Don Miguel Ruiz's book, "The Four Agreements". 1. Be Impecable with your word. 2. Don't take anything personally. 3. Don't make any assumptions. 4. Do the best you can.
Favorite word. Tolerance. Least favorite words, Intolerance, Unforgiving and Indifference.
That should tell you lots about this host should you venture to stay here.
