Response from Dimitri:
Clio: OK, I am usually definitely NOT the complaining type (as you can see in the other reviews I wrote and received before), and you can see in the feedback that I originally posted, they were positive feedback as well about the staff and all.
I took the time to write my feedback for your benefit and the benefit of other potential airbnb customers. It's regrettable that you could not just accept it gracefully and instead assume that all my comments were based upon what you call "anger".
"Clio Bali is basically a glamorized motel, with competitive rates for Seminyak. The staff is helpful and the rooms are nice.
However, here are a few drawbacks for our standard room:
TRUE: - You have to choose between privacy or daylight. Almost all of our windows were facing the courtyard and other rooms. So, if you wanted to have any kind of privacy, you needed to close your curtains and therefore shut down all daylight. Remember that in Indonesia, the sun sets around 18:00 and therefore you want to use all the daylight that you can..."
TRUE: Electric plugs: If you need to use a computer or else, they were very few electric plugs available and none were near the small desk. I ended up moving the desk in the "kitchen/bathroom"area so that I could work on my computer. -
TRUE: Water: It took a certain amount of skills to manipulate the shower tab. The water was either too cold or scolding hot.
TRUE- No swimming pool which is a nice feature to have and which a lot of similarly priced properties in Bali have. It's definitely a good thing to have to cool off from time to time, since the nearest beach is not so close. Clio states that this is by design to keep the loud crowd at bay, but come on, it's a nice feature to have in a country where it is not prohibitively priced...
TRUE - Having a departure flight at night and noticing that quite a few rooms were empty, (I was therefore not taking anyone's place), I asked if I could benefit for a late check out (9pm)... Yes, I know I was pushing the envelope, but when I first made my reservation, I noticed that some other airbnb places were willing to work with me on this. I asked Clio at the time of making a reservation if they could be flexible on this, and never got a response on this matter until I showed up at the place. Clio, being a motel, did insist on making me pay a full additional rate. In other words, don't expect them to bend the rules even if they can...
