The first thing you should know about me: I live (and love) to travel. Checking out art, music, and historical attractions is foremost on my agenda wherever I go... and discovering the best food ever!
Right now I spend my days working in a library and as a barista in a café, dreaming of far-off places, learning Hindi but wishing I were one of those people who speaks a dozen languages with ease. Almost all my travel know-how comes from South Asia, where I've spent a lot of time gallavanting. Next on my list of things to do are Patagonia, Maritime Canada, and pretty much all of Europe.
What couldn't I live without? That's tough. I suppose I could live without Japanese films, books by John Hawkes, or Anthony Braxton records. But that wouldn't be any fun, now would it?
My favorite type of food in the whole world is Southern Indian cuisine. I cook up a storm in the kitchen - sometimes literally, and it ain't pretty. I love doing yoga and going to the gym, and once in a blue moon I manage to clamber up a modestly-sized mountain. More or less married to my bike. Hey, it's legal in Massachusetts.
As a guest I would say I'm quiet, low-key and courteous. I try to travel light, but invariably take too many books with me. More an early bird than a night owl - not a big drinker or partier, and I don't think I've danced more than a couple of steps before falling on my face. Informal lessons welcomed.
Oh, and one more thing: I love cats. Probably more than most people you know.
